Yeah that was a horrible story you told me. People who are unprofessional like that won't be around for very long. That's why I tell everyone who shops around to make sure they see a complete wedding from start to finish. It's so imperative, because everyone has a series of best shots they can show you.

Congrats! Beautiful pic and that's a hell of a first award to win.
In my honest opinion, I've met a lot of photographers and have seen what they offer, their shooting style and prices, I have to say my price is very very reasonable. There's a lot of crap out there unfortunately. We call them the weekend warriors. They buy a new fancy DSLR and go out and want to shoot weddings without knowing what it all involves.

Funny, there was a different typo there before, I went it in fixed it... but made another typo haha.

Thanks man. I have this urge to be recognized by peers. I tell every couple that I want to create an award winning album or image with them. I have always tried, now I can prove I've done it.

Just wondering, when you say it's a digital photo contest, does that mean it's been touched up and/or edited? Either way, congrats!
Not necessarily. It's captured on a digital camera and not film. Also, every image you see from a true professional will always be enhanced a bit or maybe a lot. The amount they do depends on their style.

Thanks Cow. You haven't shown me any of your new photos for a while!

Hey Rob! It's never too late. There are a few pics I would like to submit still but it depends on the category. I think the photo of your father hugging Tiffany or Tiffany coming into the chapel with her father shot would make a great entry for a wedding PJ (photojournalism) category.

The competition was the world's best. I don't know if you guys can see the other entries, but there were some amazing images. I didn't think I would win first, maybe top 10 but definitely not first. I guess I've seen the shot so many times, it gets old haha.

I don't do boudoir, simply because I am a guy and it's hard to get work doing it. That said, I would love to explore boudoir, because I could really run off with some cool concepts. Lucky you she wants a boudoir session!

Photo was taken inside the Calgary Tower area between the Palliser.

Thanks. I am very proud and have been gleaming for the last week. This only motivates me to get better so I can try and win more awards!

Sometimes the ones that win aren't the artist's favorites.

To the OP: Out of curiosity, if this isn't the image you imagined winning, which one was it?

Nice work Neeper.

Too bad you didn't live in Ottawa (where I'm getting married in Sept.), I'd hire you in a second!

Nice! I wish I could get to half the talent level you are at. Amazing work, I've spent some time in awe of your website samples.

I hope by the time I get married you are still doing this, and are giving huge CP discounts. Especially now that you are famous!

Just don't let it get to your head and raise your prices too much before I get hitched.

Unless of course the CP discount goes up by the same amount.

Congrats... to me that's your best shot, though others will of course have their own tastes.
