IIRC when Locke is experiencing all his time shifts at one point he almost gets captured by guys dressed in circa 1940's millitary uniforms.
I have to say that as a general rule, I like time travel in Sci Fi- but the one thing that always bugs me is how neat and controlled it seems to be. This isn't just flying back to get some whales, then flying the other direction around the sun sends you back to the future- this is outside of everybody's control. So it makes it a little more unique.

It's sort of funny with LOST, I love the show, but I have virtually no idea what is going on 90% of the time.

At this point they could do anything and I'm still going to watch to the end, but it's weird how much different the show is now from the first season. It's almost like a completely different show.

And probing, thats why it was so angry.
Not about being a poler bear in the jungle.
But . . . you know. . . the probing.

If the Island can do miraculous things (Locke's paralysis) why didn't Hurley lose weight?
Is that beyond even the powers of the island?

Well I think it's apparent that Locke is special to the Island and vice versa.

You're not alone. I find out more about the show in threads like this then actually watching.

Keep in mind that we still haven't ruled out the possibility that there was no plane crash, and the entire story could be Hurley's delusions while he's still inside the mental institution. (Season 3 I think.)

I'd never even considered that.
I would be super pissed if that's how it all finished up.

Middle of Season 3 or after the end of Season 3? Those two things are night and day as far as the quality of the show goes.

I had it pegged that the cloverfield monster attacks the Island, and just as they're about to be killed, the 6 main characters are beamed up to the enterprise which does a sling shot travelling back in time to before the plane crash. With the knowledge of the experience still fresh in their minds, they decide not to board the plane, thus they don't ever get to the Island. Meanwhile Captain Kirk realizing that the Island is a romulan experiment levels it with a photon torpedo, while Spock gets caught in another time wave and prevents the assasination of John F Kennedy thus changing the future forever.
Anyways thats the first 15 minutes, the last 45 minutes consists of JJ Abrahms pointing at you through the T.V. screen and laughing his ass off because we all dedicated 5 years to this show.

Except that Carlton Cuse and Damian Linderhof have said many times that the losties are very much alive and on the island.
Desmond centric episode tomorrow.
