Phil 381 A-

Got to say I'm pleasantly surprised with all three. I was definitely at a C/C+ going into the 383 final and I got food poisoning the day before so I hardly studied.

B- in Poli 213 and Coms 201...probably due to the fact that I didn't study. Kinda bombed the Coms final but what can ya do. Still waiting to get my marks for Medieval History and Development Studies...starting to piss me off a little bit.

I did the same thing (Minus Mount Royal). Calculus and Linear Algebra killed me my first semester when I didn't realize that I had to actually do some work at University. I was ridiculously close to being on academic probation, and my GPA still suffers.

It has been many years since I went to school, but I do have my own story about grades. I started off taking business classes and getting a decent GPA, but I didn't like it and I quickly went downhill. I finished up with something bad, like a 1.8 GPA or something below 20, I don't remember exactly.

A few years later I decided that I wanted to get into IT. So back to school I went and I ranged between 3.6 and 3.8 GPA. Your grades all depend on your interest in the subject.

In grade school I didn't care either and I got lower grades than I should've received. It wasn't until grade 12 that I cared about history(Social Studies). A class that I was continually getting D's in year after year, and suddenly grade 12 hits and I darn near aced the class.

I got a 3.18. Disappointing because I got a C that if I had done the class properly should have been a B or A. I didn't turn in a bunch of busy work and that killed me.

That C+, it was the last exam of a grueling 7 coarse workload and a incredibly boring subject (thermodynamics), where I had an exam, 3 day break, 5 exams, 2 day break, thermodynamics but I just couldn't get myself up to study about thermodynamics after the grueling exam schedule where the engineers were the first to start, last to finish and still didn't have my exams spaced out properly. After that 6th exam, I was beat, everyone was moving out of res and saying "have a good summer," the library I studied at that was always full was now dead and I just could not study. I was going in with an 97% in the class, so I'm pretty sure I got below 32% on my final exam to drop that low lol. I always manage to take a dump in at least one of my classes every semester, I swear its a disease.

I think it was after that class that I said f it with grades, I'm not setting goals or projections for grades anymore.

well I always end up with a C+ or B- at least once a semester which drops my GPA pretty low (and now B for grad school) which is really annoying. Actually, its sort of depressing when you are doing so well in all your other classes, it looks like your going to have a good semester then 1 class drops your GPA 0.4 or 0.5. I've never had a straight A semester or anything, that was actually one of the better semesters I've had. I've had semesters full of B's and B+'s then a C+ before too.

So I got my mark for Soci of Communications changed from a D to a B-...and there is no change in my GPA. That doesnt seem quite right to me, but it could be that the average is just taking a little bit to adjust with the new mark.

BTW I finally got my grade, B+ in HTST 307. Also got an email from someone in the class unhappy with their grade, anyone else ever get this?

I barely ever showed up for this class, I just wrote the tests which were fairly easy, I didnt even buy the books and hardly even studied for the tests, but this seems like more than a fair grade for the effort I put in, but somehow this person is upset about their grade? Ah well, it takes all kinds I guess.

Holy Hell!! That sounds like quite the semester. I've only ever took amat 311 when in university...you really like your maths.

And it has nothing to do with class grades, but got me a 7 on my third SOA exam. And that's a pass. And that get's me a refund of the exam and study material from work. And that get's me a raise as well. And it's almost time to celebrate that with copious amounts of booze. (yes, I'm quite happy about this)

How do you calculate GPA with +/-? At Idaho there are only A, B, C, D and F. No pluses or minuses.
