As i stated I wouldn't buy a Dell..period. I wouldn't buy NCIX either because they are a mail order house but at least they show a name-brand parts list so I would take them over Dell.

But I'm not sure why you feel the need to order a PC threw the mail when you can walk into a Memoryexpress (and a few others) talk to a tech about what your needs are and have one built with quality parts for probably less than an order house.

I had a problem a couple years ago with my PC just shutting down for no reason,I suppected it was a powersupply problem (turns out thats what it was) I was busy so I dropped it off at MEx at lunchtime and they called at 3 that it was fixed, they replaced the power supply at no charge even know it was slightly over the warrantee.

Had that been a Dell or any other shipped PC it would have been a couple of weeks to get them to fix it.

Take that list with you to discuss with the sales tech...trust me you'll end up happy.

I like this one better than the AMD or the Dell.
The only change I might make is the case. The Coolermaster CM690, I think is worth an extra $54.

NCIX has a good reputation for price and service, they are the closest for me and I buy there regularly, but like T@T says check out your local dealers and you won't have any shipping fees or problems.

One thing you many want to consider is switching the HD to the WD 640GB one. It has a smaller cache, but the platter density is higher so real throughput has been shown to rival the 10K RPM drives.

I'll stop into memory express on the weekend with the list of parts for that computer and see what they can do for me. I'll keep you updated. Thanks for the help!

I love Memory Express! I went into NE store during the summer and picked up a bunch of parts and built my first computer. Costed me about $1200-1300 bucks in the end, but I was most certainly happy with the purchases. Awesome place. Whenever I need to upgrade anything I'll be going there first.

I still need to buy myself a widescreen monitor though lol...been using my old 17" LCD that I had with my older PC.

Btw, good luck on your future PC!

Corsair TX650W - Excellent power-supply, using it for my next system

Seagate Barracudas - Excellent HDs. Go for the 1TB if you can. 1.5 TB has some firmware issues that may or may not be ironed out.

Here's what I'm planning for my next system, hoping to purchase at the end of the month....

Intel Core i7 920 ($360) - BestDirect.com

Asus P6T X58 Deluxe ($365) - DirectCanada.com

Corsair TX650W ($111) - DirectCanada.com

OCZ DDR3 6GB 3x2GB 7-7-7-20 ($300) - MemoryExpress

Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 1TB 7200 RPM SATA ($116) - CanadaComputers

I like to think I have a good idea of who makes quality components, but to be sure, I consulted with a lot of unbiased people who *really* know their business when it comes to this sort of thing, and this is what we came up with. (Based on my needs, which is mostly just business applications and some video encoding, no gaming)

Comes to $1250, without the video card (need to choose that still) or case. Hoping to give Memory Express a shout and see if they can match it. A good place to search for prices is shopbot.ca, at least to give you an idea of what a good price should be. DirectCanada and BestDirect include shipping in their prices and don't charge PST. NewEgg.ca sucks, avoid.

Will be running 64-bit Vista. Wish I could skip ahead to Windows 7, but alas..
