Finally 7th time a try, success. Picked up a Canon Powershot 8.0 MP camera for $158 total, since I busted the same one this summer on vacation.

I need a 16GB SDHC card to increase my EeePC from it's measly 4GB but the best seems to be the class 4 16GB SDHC advertised at Futureshop. At $19.99 it doesn't really seem like that good a deal when you can get class 6 ones at NCIX for that price level. Anybody see a better place for these?

I checked a few prices on things that I had been shopping for or bought before Christmas, and didn't see anything that I wanted before Xmas that is going to be cheaper on Boxing Day. The one thing I might have bought was a Blu Ray player and there is only one really big deal that i have come across so far and it was on a crappy player that you wouldn't even want to take for free ... unless you are a sucker for punnishment.

If I REALLY wanted a BluRay player, I should have got the Sony BDPS350 that was on sale for $179 at SuperStore before Christmas.

That's what I picked up for my parents for Christmas. I haven't seen any deals that match it so far.

Market Mall and Chinook Centre are open at 8am tomorrow.

Wal-Mart is open at 7am for those who haven't had enough Wal-Mart fun.

Any input from the TV savvy out there?

...or even general tips on tv buyng this year. LCD vs. plasma for one. I want to make sure I can watch hockey well.

For $800 it is decent. For me 5ms refresh time is too slow. Plasma is a better option, but if you want cheap Plasma, they will be "older" models, so burn-in may be a factor. For any sports I recommend Plasma, as LCD does lag, although new ones are hardly noticeable (5ms you might notice the puck shadows, etc.). If you want to pick up a nice cheap tv though the $800 LCD is good enough.

That's a good price for a 40" 1080p TV. It has a lower contrast then other Samsungs and only has 2 HDMI ports whereas most mid level TVs have 3 but Samsung has a good name. To move up a little the Samsung 550 is $999 but if I spent that much I'd probably go for the 42LG70 at $999 as it has 120Hz, 4 HDMI inputs and a 40,000 contrast ratio.

Probably the 120 Hz is better for sports but if you don't want to worry about that go Plasma though plasma has it's own problems. Maybe look at the Panasonic 720p TH42PX80 for $979.

what are good digital picture frames to get these days? I don't need super duper high quality, but the middle to low end last Christmas weren't very good at all.

I'd like to hang several different ones in my office, with different trips or photo collections in each one.

A couple of other plasma 720p TVs going cheap at BB are the 42" LG 42PG20 for $599 and the Samsung 50" PN50A400 for $899.
