Hinge is a lot easier. Go to the kitchen, look for a twist tie, strip the wire out of it, and thread the wire through the screw holes. Unless of course you snapped something else. Twist ties are much more difficult to see than tape, much better.

You need to get better frames.

I like titanium - I'm blind as a bat though, so I'm always wearing my glasses (contacts just for hockey). When I buy a pair, I always go for the "luxury" options - it's a quality of life thing, and I like that the high end frames don't break.

How are you breaking your glasses so much? Do you have a stressful job? You used to work at the CCC didn't you? I manhandle my frames, stick them in pockets, hang them off my collar, throw them in my bag, etc. all the time.

Maybe get a better pair of frames? It's always good to have a backup as well. I probably have 4-5 pairs lying around and I always leave an extra one in the car. You should still be able to fix just about any pair of glasses temporarily with tape. Gives you a good conversation piece and people will notice you as well.
