I remember that from when I was in High School. Two idiots came up with the ingenious idea to frame one of them and the other collect the money and split it while leaving the 'rents on the hook for the fine.
Its $500 worth of Transit Tickets.

Maybe something similar to this - public embarrasement.

See? Exactly what I was saying. This is the way to go.
I dont see how this is legal though, if the whole scenario from the Mighty Ducks was really played out, I'm sure Bombay would have won on appeal and owned the hovels that those basterd children lived in.

On a related note...
The "Stonecutters" episode of the Simpsons was on tonight. I've probably seen it twenty times but tonight was the first time I actually saw what was written on the wall of that building they paint "a beautiful sky blue" (and then a helicopter crashes into it).
All the graffiti they were painting over was simply the word "graffiti" written in a bunch of different styles. It even had a heart with "graffiti + graffiti" in it, and there was one "El Barto" mixed in.
Before I started typing this post I thought it was a funny gag, but now it seems like one of those things where you either "had to be there" or is only funny to Simpsons nerds, but I've gone this far, and it's too late to turn back now, so I can't delete this post after all this typing, and I have to push the "Post Quick Reply" button now, as soon as I stop typing. Which will happen right now. Now.

Actually, a scenario very similar to the pic above, happened in Okotoks this spring. 2 boys, brothers I believe, were on the outskirts of town and lit a match or something and it started a huge fire that did quite a bit of damage and was quite hard to extinguish.
The mother was appalled that her son (sons?) would have done something like this. The boys were very young, 10 and 12ish? and I think they were sentenced to some community service. but the mother though that was insufficient. And she had her son walk on main street Okotoks for 6 hours one Saturday with a sign saying something like, I am the one who started the fire.
That mother has her head on straight and I think her boys will turn out ok.

People are so selfish. They probably complained because you made them late.
Or they spoil kids so they thought it wasn't a big deal

I seem to remember reading about that. That being said i agree with what the mother did. I'm sure the boys were constantly reminded by their friends and with the public embarassement it was probably enough incentive to never do something like that again.

I'd have to assume that's a small minority, they just happened to spoke out and cause a debate with those that felt the need to support you, but I'm sure most people on the train that didn't get involved sided with you. And I'd guarantee that those people who were "against" you would of been more than thankful if their car/house/etc was being vandilized by the same kids and you called them out and stopped them. This is just about lack of respect both from the kids and adults that "supported" them.
I am surprised at the constant lack of respect on the c-train, recently I was on it when a lady was clearly going for the seat across from me when 2 other elderly ladies ran and "pushed" her out of the way knowing it was her intentions to sit down. She called them "very rude" and they just laughed as the lady walked down to another seat (of which there was more then a few empty ones at the time, which makes me even more baffled as to why these ladies felt the need to steal this one, perhaps they just wanted to sit by me :P). I gave the ladies a bad look, and in retrospect wish I would of said something especially as when they left the train one of the ladies stuffed a half eaten banana between the seat and the wall where the window is, she spent more time stuffing it in and causing a mess then if she would of just kept it with her and threw it in the garbage which was right outside the door on the c-train platform. Oh, sorry for ranting, didn't mean to initially.
