According to a couple of articles on the tragedy, people no only were not stopping to help the person up, they were bumping and pushing past the emergency services personnel who were trying to help the guy.

I don't think that stores should have measures in place to stop old men and pregnant chicks from being trmapled to death while shopping. I would think these things should be common sense amongst the shoppers.

I imagine that this chick will get paid since thats how it seems to work in our society but that doesn't mean it is right or that the store should be responsible.

It would nice to see people actually take responisbility for their own actions rather than trying to blame anyone with cash.

It's really pathetic to see what lengths some people will go to to get a deal. I used to work at a grocery store and at opening time there would be always be people running from the front door to the bakery so that they would be able to grab all the day-old bread that was marked down before anybody else could. Absolutely pathetic some people I tells ya.

Union responds as well:

Quote:
"This incident was avoidable," said Bruce Both, President of United Food and Commercial Workers Union Local 1500. "Where were the safety barriers? Where was security? How did store management not see dangerous numbers of customers barreling down on the store in such an unsafe manner?" asked President Both. "This is not just tragic; it rises to a level of blatant irresponsibility by Wal-mart. UFCW Local 1500 will demand a full investigation by all levels of Government to ensure both justice for the surviving family members and to ensure the safety of current employees and the general public. This can never be allowed to happen again and those responsible must be held accountable," Both concluded.

Why do unions want me make to punch them in the face even when what they say sounds reasonable?

Because the union leaders were negligent in seeking out safety measure BEFORE this happened. In otherwords, trying to save face by pulling their heads out of their asses before anyone notices.

Problem is their faces are covered in s***.

I really can't understand how saving $75 is worth standing in line at 3am pushing and shoving with a thousand other people to get one stupid electronic gadget.

If the $75 is that important to you, maybe you should be looking for a job, or getting rest for your job instead lining up to purchase junk.
