Unfortunately we aren't going for another year, but I suspect there will still be these killer deals then too.
My wife's aunt gambles a tonne. My wife's parents and her aunts and uncles all go to Vegas once or twice per year, and because her aunt gambles so much she books the rooms, nobody has to pay for their rooms, she gets them all free. She also gets a lot of free meals.

I havent paid for a room, meal, or drink in years. The casino we stay at will now even comp a portion of our flight. Limo service to and from the airport is a given.
Players cards are definately worth it and as a side note, if you eat at the hotel you are staying at or see a show etc. make sure you charge things to your room. This is how they go about comping you at the end of your trip. They will look at your play and make deductions from your room charges in accordance with your play.

This man speaks the truth, tho we haven't gotten partial flights nor limo service comped. Room in the grand tower @ MGM, tickets to UFC91, all 4 breakfasts at Studio Cafe, dinner at Jasmine in Bellagio, and even the $400 dinner at Joel Rubochon's L'Atelier restaurant were comped on our last trip by charging it for the room. (Well Jasmine was from the Pai Gow pit boss at Bellagio) Additionally, you can also ask for VIP vouchers to skip line ups at restaurants and buffets, free cigarettes (Neither of us really smoke, but we can usually amass a carton or two to bring home for friends).
If you're going to be gambling anyways, may as well capitalize.

In the six times I've been there, I've always had the best times by being hooked up by a promoter that is walking the strip. Usually she is just looking to hand out passes to the various clubs on the strip, but if you can sweet talk her, (I think there are guys as well that do this) they can hook you up with bottle service at multiple clubs at tables. Typically if you want to sit at a table in a club at Vegas you have to order 2 to 3 bottles at $400 a pop. It's possible to get free drinks if you can charm them. I've only really excessively gambled once... personally not into it much.
I also checked out the VIP back area at the Rhino and damn was it expensive (but nice!)
If you're into the night life, I would recommend the Tau in the Venetian on Thursday, Studio 54 at the MGM on Friday, and either the Christian Audigier club at Treasure Island or the Playboy club at the Palms on Saturday. Make sure you get hooked up by a promoter though cause you don't want to wait in line.

We got the $300 tickets, which IMO were a little far. It is the equivalent of sitting in the first 10 or so rows of the 2nd tier in the dome, which is great for hockey since you're watching plays develop between 5 players, but not quite close enough when you're focusing on two fighters. We really should've paid the difference to upgrade to the $500 or $750 tickets. But We've never watched a UFC at the MGM (or anywhere for that matter) so we didn't know better. There are 6 massive screens you can watch, but let's face it, if you're watching off a screen may as well order PPV.

Pretty sure you need a passport now to get into the states... can he find an old expired one? That might work still (but could very well have changed since the last time I got away with that) I'd still go. Why not if you've already paid? Go gamble and meet some ladies.

I know someone who managed to get into the US on a expired on recently but had some problems getting back into the country upon his return
Apparently he had to undergo interrogation and a "special" body search, if i remember the story correctly.

Well that's the thing. Didn't buy cancellation insurance for the flight so I can't get the money back for that. Totally my fault there I just really didn't think this would happen. Got a steal of a deal on the hotel room, because my mom called and now if I cancel I could be putting her with a bad reputation with the hotel.
Would you guys go alone? Looks like I may have to. Just really frustrated and pissed off right now.

Well, if I had to choose between going alone or not going and still losing the $$, I'd go alone. I'd probably just play poker all day (as I'm a settled down guy, so I could have just brought her if I was in your situation) but if i was a single, young guy.... hells yeah, I'd go.

Don't be pissed off, your going to Vegas. If I was single I'd go with you in a heartbeat. There's lots of people there and a 21 year old can easily meet up with some people you own age have fun with. Bring lots of money and you'll have a great time. Vegas is a blast

On the bright side, now you can get an "escort" into your hotel room without worrying where your buddy is.

I'm going down to Vegas at least once in the next year, and one of those times is for my friends stag, of which I am the best man. Maybe I should be using the Confession thread, but it just isn't me to get a hooker or spend hundreds at strip clubs. I still like to drink and gamble and whatnot, so where does a guy get his entertainment down there if these other things aren't exactly up your alley?

We were just debating the other day in one of my classes if being asexual was possible or not.
Crazy.

Isn't drinking and gambling enough entertainment on its own? I go down and play blackjack/poker, go see a couple shows, go buy some electronics and clothes, bake my hangovers away by the pool and it's all good. I've never been bored; usually you meet some characters while you're playing the table games and if you have any pickup skills at all, the rich party girls from California come into town on Friday and Saturday nights, obviating the need for hookers.
The first couple times I went my buddies were all over the strip clubs, but really, you can go to a strip club in Alberta and the experience is much the same, albeit considerably cheaper. It's not like the girls in Vegas have extra nipples or something.

the comp value is a ratio between the amount of the bet and the time you spend at the table.
we gamble a lot when we go down. thats our holiday and entertainment. our bets vary. we typically start small and work our way up. its a betting system. at most I think the average bet was $100.00 a hand BJ. but most importantly is the time factor. they want you playing at the table.. and for my buddy and I, its not unheard of to spend 8-10 hours at the tables.
