Did they at least give you something for the pain? Does it still hurt as much as it did yesterday?
Ugh, my door slamming incident:
I slammed my son's head in the sliding door on my minivan back when he was in kindergarten. I thought he'd already gotten out of the car and I was toward the back, so I gave the open door a very hard push from the back of the van to slide it closed, and just as I did that his head started to poke out and the door slammed one side of his head and forced the other into the frame of the car. Luckily he had a strong skull and was very motivated to hang out with his friends. I put ice on it once we got inside Carls Jr. (fast food restaurant with a play area) and he seemed fine. I took him to the pediatrician after lunch, just to be sure he was OK and he was. I got rid of that stupid minivan the next month. I couldn't stand to look at it.

Cool pic! Gross, but cool. That looks like when my brother worked at a tire store and cut off the tip of his pinky when it got stuck in some machine thingy that puts the tire on a rim.
They told my brother his nail wouldn't grow back, but it did. Maybe they can't guarantee it.
Do you have enough flesh over the tip of the bone to pad when you bump it? My brother pretty much as bone and skin and ends up having a more painful than normal reaction to small bumps to the tip of his finger.

Ew. You warned and yet I looked anyways. That's from a lawn chair, my goodness. I may stay clear of them now.

Um, well, they warned me the sensitivity would never be the same again. It doesn't hurt to type, but it doesn't feel natural, if that makes sense. Theres a bit of skin, but they cut a few mm of bone away to be able to pad it.

More of a patio chair. There was a metal component to it, and it didn;t cut it off, it pinched a piece of skin and meat and when the chair collapsed, it ripped the tip off. I sometimes wish it would have cut off.

They just recommended I take Advil, and no it isn't constantly throbbing like it was yesterday.
Looks like I'll live.

Must be a bad day for CPers. I was prepping my front walk for exposed aggregate I'm having poured soon, and I was moving some gravel by wheelbarrow when the load shifted and I slammed my back into a pine tree trunk. For a sec I thought I'd broken a rib, the pain was that excruciating.
