Do onto others as you would have them do to you....

In this case even if they don't deserve it, you almost gotta be the bigger person. When people start 1 uping each other, it gets harder and harder to stop...

I thought it was, "Do onto others before they do onto you!".

The fact that I'm not planning on moving anytime soon, and i doubt the neighbour is moving anytime soon kind of means I really don't want to turn this into an escalating war.

I want to be able to relax when I go home, not wonder, "What next."

Some air was cleared with the neighbour last night, probably as much as will be cleared, and enough that I will continue to say hello, I just won't stop and chat.

I'll be more curious to see what has happened when I get home from work. The forms were all set yesterday and I would imagine the pour should happen today.

If they wheelbarrow the concrete, they'll need to get creative (or go up my lawn) just because of the way the neighbour has their front lawn. If it is out of a truck with a chute, it will be fine but a truck would be overkill for the amount they would need.

I'll see, I guess.

Don't underestimate the amount of concrete needed. I did a very small patio and ended up using 25 cubic feet; so just under 1 cubic yard. Paying the short load amount to get a truck out would probably be cheaper than the cost of labour in mixing themselves.

Is there another neighbour that is home that can check how its being done? If they are going onto your yard, I'd be inclined to press charges of trasspassing.

Feel your pain with the neighbors... mine was noise related.

If it gets bad enough with the neighbor... recruit some CP'ers to help put up a 2 foot fence on your side of the property line. Paint their side "Oil Country" or something.

If they wheeled things across your property... check to make sure the weight didn't make a nice groove(s) in your lawn.

I thought the city changed laws a few years back regarding impact or use of others property. So you can't mess up/damage someones lawn, you can't shoot mower grass clippings onto someone elses property... you can't let your sprinkler water someone elses lawn, etc. (which to me also includes using others property to accommodate renovations, without the property owners consent.. ie. no leaving mud, no damage to property like sunken lawn from weight, or using property to store items, tools, etc.).
