This part of the world is surprisingly safe if you don't put yourself in situations where things are more likely to happen. I don't go to nightclubs for this very reason...well not toilet tank reasons, but because of the clientele.

But does an incident like this indicate "safety" or a lack thereof?

The fact that this happened doesn't make me believe Calgary is any different than it was before. If you piss off a drunk guy, there has always been the chance that he'd retaliate in some unreasonable manner.

A friend of mine beat the living crap out of a guy in the Bathroom at the Ranchmans about 12 years ago. Wrapped his head off the toilet bowl a few times, blood everywhere. The poor guy ended up in an ambulance. My buddy ended up in the drunk tank. He was lucky that he didn't get charged.

I hate Cowboys because they wouldn't let me in because apparently my jeans were "too baggy". Yup, it had nothing to do with my slanty eyes. I wish that dump would disappear already.
