I'm in the middle of a dilema... there is this van parked on my front street. It's been there long before I moved in and clearly hasn't moved in years. The front passenger tire is flat, the van is FULL with storage to the point where even the driver seat is covered and finally the registration on the license plate expired in Feb '07. It's a busy street that is usually full so this van is taking up a potential parking spot.

I looked in to it and based on the expired registration and the "abonded" status I can file a complaint to have them put a warning sticker and eventually tow it. I honestly don't know how it has remained there this long but there is a signage gap making it the only spot in blocks that doesn't require a permit.

Anyways, I don't know what to do. I don't know why it bothers me so much but it really does. I have a permit, a garage and plenty of parking behind my place so I'm never stuck for a spot but something about walking by this van to and from work bugs me. I don't want to be "that guy" that complains but something inside me wants to make the call...

So I ask you, would you have this "storage container" marked for towing?
Before I post I have to say I've only read this first post so I am ignorant to the rest of thread or which direction it may have taken.

Been there, done that. I have no qualms about it.

I live at the end of the street and there was a car parked next to my house. It sat there all last winter and into the spring. A couple of tires went flat and the window got broken. I had enough, took the license plate number (which had expired) and phoned the parking authority.

They ran the plate and "discovered" it had expired. They sent someone out that night and marked it for towing. However, the owner came out and removed the tag. It sat for another week and I phoned again and the still hadn't registered the car and it was gone in about an hour.

I knew who owned the car but I didn't care cause they clearly didn't care about the car or how it made the area look.

I say go for it and don't lose any sleep over it.

That may not be his intension. But he clearly has not taken the time to think or care how his actions are inconveniencing his neighbors.
