means nothing until he shows it on the field......but I certainly hope you are right and Carrol has the ability to get the most out of him.

Colorado is very young, but Hawkins is going to make them a contender sooner rather than later. They're going to ruin someone's conference record this season.

I am a Ohio State guy...which probably makes me very un-popular among College football fans...Oh well...
10 returnees on Def, and 9 on Offense...This is the Year of Beanie Wells! It will be pretty interesting to see how Tressel uses Pryor...Especially in the USC game. Something tells me that Terrell Pryor will play a big roll in the outcome of that game. The freshman is going to be fun to watch for a couple years.
....But in all honesty, that Ohio State Defense is going to be stiffiling!
GO BUCKEYES!

Maybe you can help me with something, does Chris Wells = Beanie Wells? I remember when Chris Wells was recurited as he was the #1 RB in his year, but when did 'beanie' show up?
OSU would hands down be THE favorite to end up in Miami, however they have that problem of visiting SC early in the year. Good thing they have a veteran team, and USC had a sluggish start last year, they'll need another slow start for OSU to have a decent chance down there.

Yes, Chris Wells = Chris 'Beanie' Wells. IT's his nickname, and what everyone calls him. They also have Sr RB named Maurice Wells, but he will be backing Beanie up.
...And I agree, happy to see the Ohio St - USC game early in the season. It is truly a make-or-break game for Tressel and the Buckeyes. And like I said, I think Pryor will play a big part in the outcome of the game. The kid has the talent to be a real 'slash' type talent.

Did I miss something or isn't Boeckman almost a guarantee to be the Buckeyes starter in 2008?

Oh he for SURE is, but I am sure they will use Pryor as a weapon to get him some action as a freshman. during mid-season, I am sure he will see a lot of playing time in those blowout games against Kent, etc.
Beockman is the starter, though...no bones about it.

Bad break, Sanchez dislocated his kneecap before practice today - he still thinks he will be ready by the opener though

Back from a seperated knee cap in 3 weeks? Yikes...maybe it is just painful moreso than dibilitating...no idea myself.
Anyone else ever experienced such a malady?

6-6 or 7-5 at best.
They'll be improved from last year's disaster, but they're still a young team. I really think it's going to be a huge mistake giving Weis that huge long term extension.

The AP had to have their votes in by Aug. 1st, so the LT injury had no bearing. I think it is wishful thinking to have Georgia at #1, as long as it isn't Southern Cal I'm a happy camper.

2008 Notre Dame Football Schedule
Sept. 6 SAN DIEGO STATE
Sept. 13 MICHIGAN
Sept. 20 at Michigan State
Sept. 27 PURDUE
Oct. 4 STANFORD
Oct. 11 at North Carolina
Oct. 18 Open Date
Oct. 25 at Washington
Nov. 1 PITTSBURGH
Nov. 8 at Boston College
Nov. 15 vs. Navy (at Baltimore, Md.)
Nov. 22 SYRACUSE
Nov. 29 at USC
I see 6 wins on that schedule as long as Weiss has recruited some decent skill players.
If not...I see another 3 win season. They just aren't relevant anymore until they truly have unearthed some gems.

Looking at that schedule I think they could have as many as 8 wins:
SD St.
Mich St.
Stanford
NC
Washington
Pitt
Navy
Syracuse
Those are all winnable games. I have doubts that they will be good enough or consistent enough to win them all but at the top end of the scale I would say that 8 wins is possible.
But more realisitically I think they are a 6 win team that shows some good things at times and makes their fans pull their hair out with a bad loss or two.
