Wow. That would have easily convinced me to buy tickets, hands down. If they would have been the headlining band, I'm sure tickets would have sold much faster than they did. The initial reaction to the lineup by most folk was "is that it?" I wouldn't even have second-guessed it if they announced Tool.

Count me in the group "STP was amazing"

Hard to imagine anyone not enjoying it

Tool would have put that concert over the top

Go move to Vernon if you don't want the noise to get too loud after 10PM

Anyone catch Corb Lund at V-fest? Man, he's a true Albertan songwriter, with a great live show. He also does a wicked version of "the hockey song". The best was the 4th verse someone wrote, that added to the end of it to reflect the lockout......

It's people like that who keep Calgary from getting quality outdoor concerts more often. Tyranny of the minority.
I saw that last night. what an idiot.

It's pretty annoying. I live in Ramsey and could hear most of the festival. Unlike that guy, I though it was pretty neat. What's better than sitting outside on a Sunday night and listening to the Tragically Hip?

Festivals, like Virginfest, can only enrich the city.

I'm the same way...I live up the hill in Renfrew, and was kinda hoping that the festival organizers would turn it up to 11 so I could hear it a little bit better.

I wasn't at the Virginfest but I've seen him before. He puts on a great show and his band is great. I would really like to see him in a small bar somewhere though. I think that would be awesome.

Hey man if Spinal Tap was there I'm sure they would have turned it up to 11.

I was there nearly all day, had a pretty good time. Moshing, crowd-surfing idiots almost ruined Matt Good for me.

Was impressed by a few bands I'd never heard of... The Summerlad, The Spades and especially Stars.

It's bush leagure reporting in my books, typical by Global News. Why not report on both ends then especially since I bet the majority enjoyed the concert along with the benefits that it brought to Calgary and its economy. Why focus just on the minority? Even in this thread I am reading of folks that enjoyed hearing the music from Bridgeland, Renfrew and surrounding areas. Why let some old crank dying for attention get his 15 minutes of fame? Every neigborhood has these idiots and if you give them an inch they'll take a mile.

Journalism is about bringing up both sides of the story. Not reporting on the minority to sell papers.
