It doesn't matter if it's an AK or not. An AK-47 can be used for hunting, it can be made to be accurate, it can be handled properly. People just have this idea in their heads that AKs are full-automatic spray and pray machines for terrorists...they are not. They are very rugged and reliable and easily serviced and economical rifles. They are part of a family and can be manufactured by anybody from a kid in a cave in Pakistan to a large corporation. They can be made to shoot in single shot, they can be customized to be accurate. We don't know any details of this gun. It might be a family heirloom, something that his grandfather just really liked...so it's an assault rifle? So what? Nobody said anything about him using it in semi or full auto.

The point is this:

Any idiot that walks around without the safety on...(and the AK's safety is huge and obvious like a can opener) can get ANY gun's trigger caught in a tree branch and shoot their own kin.

That's just stupid. Unless your life is in mortal danger, is there is no reason to walk around with the safety off on any weapon.

Thanks for repeating exactly what Azure said 4 times himself and what had absolutely zero to do with what anyone said in this thread.
