I couldn't put it better myself.
This is my stance on the matter. Doesn't have to be down to the ass long, but at least around shoulder length.
I have never seen one woman look better with shorter hair versus longer.

My wife thinks she should cut her hair once we have a kid because all the other moms have done it and have convinced her to do the same. I basically told her that it was completely up to her and that it certainly would be more convenient for her to have it short so that the kid is less likely to pull on it.
With that said I also told her we would also need to get divorced and that I was concerned about our unborn child's welfare if the divorce were to occur.

EDIT: Just saw the length you were talkin about. Alot of guys may be down with it, but since we're talkin personal preferences, that's a huge no-go for me. I dont know why, but hair's seriously the first thing I look at on a woman(besides the obvious other things). And I've never liked short hair on women, for me it actually knocks them down a notch or two on the attractiveness scale when they chop it off that short(ie. Anne Heche. Looks night and day different with long curly hair). Just IMO but I say keep the hair(or at least dont chop it THAT short)

I usually have shoulder length, once it starts getting past that it gets too thick and unmanageable. I've had short short hair and also didn't like it.

I certainly have no issues with thick and unmanageable... my hair is super fine and stick straight... there's nothing I can do with it when it's long. It doesn't hold a curl at all. Usually it ends up looking stringy and gross if it's too long.

Tell your wife those women are full of crap! Long hair is easier than short hair! I used to be a hairdresser, but most of my knowledge on this subject is from personal experience! Long hair may take longer to dry, but short hair is alot more work. You have to dry it, and you have to style it every day! I have only had long hair a couple of times in my life and every time I grow it out, EVERYONE tells me to cut it short, including my hubby. I am just one of those people that look wayyyy better in short hair. I think your wife will regret it, if she's thinking it will be easier. Tell her not to make a rash decision. I think when we are pregnant for the first time we think we have to change alot of things for the baby. The first time I was pregnant I got rid of my cats because someone told me they could smother a baby. Boy did I regret that decision!

Kids can grab short hair too! My son who is nearly 4 months old, can grab my goatee. A woman shouldn't cut their hair just to avoid her kids from grabbing it because the kids have small hands and can get a good grip on short hair too. It isn't very often nor is it for a long period of time that the kids will grab hair.

I went through a verrrry unfortunate phase in junior high when I thought short spikey hair looked good....
But ever since then I've kept my hair at least shoulder length or longer. However, I have thick hair that can be worn either curly or straight, so I've definitely got options.

My roommate has hair like that and its fairly long past her shoulders, and it definitely is getting to that stringy point.
It looks really good a few inches past her shoulders, but no longer.
My hair is straight as well, won't hold curls, but I've got a lot of it, so once its a few inches past my shoulders its a pain to dry.

Long hair is always better.
Even on the FEW girls who look good with short hair, even they would look better with long hair.
The sheer amount of girls with short hair is further proof that women dress for other women and not men. I don't know any (straight?) man who prefers short hair over long hair - not a single one. (I have one friend i am pretty sure is in-the-closet-gay who likes girls with short hair though?)
It is so sad to me how all women over 25 (and progressively more as the years pass) has some how been convinvced their hair 'is just not like it used to be' and needs to be chopped off?! Not only does long hair always look better, but it looks better the older you are because then you are the exception to the rule on top of looking better!
Sometimes 'long' is shoulder length though, and not all the way down the back. A lot of girls can't pull off really long, but medium is certainly the proper compromise not a short cut.

I absolutely love short hair on women. The picture earlier in the thread (post 38) is what I am really attracted to.
Unfortunately, this has led to me being attracted to far too many lesbians. Or at least women telling me that they are lesbians.... *ponders*

Personally I think only a small percentage of women can pull off the short hair look. I think long hair long looks the best.

Well, the nice thing about cutting it off is that it does grow back.
I would say to go with whatever makes you feel the best.

Short hair only works on girls who style the hell out of it, or mothers who like the convenience and aren't that interested in looking attractive anymore.
You should compromise, business in the front, party in the back.
