Sous vide setups are pretty inexpensive.
Personally, I usually just go to my parents place and we set up shop in the kitchen doing eggs, bacon, sausages, fruits and coffee/milk tea for a brunch. Inexpensive, easy to make, filling and everyone gets a chance to casually chat while cooking together. Sometimes we grab baked goods to add to the meal or we will substitute the greasy foods with some hearty soups. We make our own, but farmers market soups are good options if you wan't to just heat something up.
We've gone out to various places and usually it's so busy it's not even a good time. As a family, we've started eating at home more often for special occasions.
If morning doesn't work, it's usually firing up the BBQ in the evening.
