I'd recommend it, but I think there might be better places in the city to spend that kind of coin. The only reason I went was that it was restaurant week, so it was basically half price...and still dropped $75 per person for 3 courses.

That's a good deal. My girlfriend and I went a couple years ago and it was close to $300 for the two of us after tax/tip, and that was with just one Crown & coke!
We really enjoyed it, the dishes were immaculate, and for what I had some of them were amazing in taste and texture (I had the chef's menu - 7 courses) she had the lobster which was, well, lobster.
I do think however that we enjoyed Tao more when we went there a couple days later - definitely a different dining experience though!
