No Canadian should ever answer this one yes. If you have answered yes to this question and call yourself Canadian, please play again. You may think you say "about" like an american, but I'm sorry (sore-ee), you don't.
How do you say the first A in PASTA? 95%+ of Canadians will answer cat, not father.
Do you say RIGHT and PRICE with the same vowel sound as RIDE and PRIZE?
Definitely different. Typical Canadian English.
The first six questions are all Canadian mergers.
I'm interested to see what answers people gave. The quiz seems so straight forward, I would have though way more people would have gotten "Canadian".

I got Canadian as well and answered the same as you on all these. People tell me my accent has change though since living in Montreal for so long. Must be true because I can notice that people from Calgary sound differently.

I got the Northern Minnesota accent.
Wow.. that's actually kind of depressing. I was hoping for a West Coast accent

You`re not Northern, Southern, or Western, you`re just plain -American-. Your national identity is more important than your local identity, because you don`t really have a local identity. You might be from the region in that map, which is defined by this kind of accent, but you could easily not be. Or maybe you just moved around a lot growing up.

I got neutral but I'm sure that I can be spotted as Canadian down south. I put this result down to my tone deafness and not really being aware of how I sound but I can often pick out people being from Alberta or even Manitoba as different. With mass media I think we're losing our distinctive accents.
One funny thing that happened to me was I was working up north with recent immigrants from Portugal for a few months and after a while I was playing Portuguese poker and speaking broken English.

Canadian (or as it is known in these parts, American.)
Americans often tell me I don't have a Canadian accent, but this is probably because I adapt it a bit when I am in the company of Americans.

I speak a Canadian dialect with a Canadian accent. Although, I often speak rather lazily which leads to saying some words differently from the way that I know is "right."
When I watch American TV shows I typically don't give the accents much notice. When I'm in the US 'o' A though, the differences really stick out to me. Part of that is because the regions I've been to recently are known for their accents, but also because actors on TV try to go for a very "neutral" accent.

What is this thing talking about? I don't have an accent.
I got Canadian, no surprise there. I've never lived anywhere but Western Canada (BC, Alberta).
Neat little quiz.

Neutral, though I do adapt quickly to my surroundings.
Visiting family in NE Montana (Northern Minnesota accent), my Canadian in-laws, or going back to Louisiana for vacation, all of those accents influence me within a couple of days. I'm sure my in-laws Maine accents would be the same.

I got Northeastern which is funny as I actually have an English accent (North West. Not quite a scouse Liverpool accent)
Fun little quiz though....
Northeastern
This could either mean an r-less NYC or Providence accent or one from Jersey which doesn`t sound the same. Just because you got this result doesn`t mean you don`t pronounce R`s.(People in Jersey don`t call their state "Joisey" in real life)

Any of you Canadians who are coming up with "American" accents feel like posting your answers to the questions?
I have a feeling some people's answers do not reflect how they actually talk, only how they think they talk. I can't imagine so many people speaking differently from me, and I speak pretty much stereotypical Canadian.

In this quiz, northeastern. In real life, eastern European-ish.

Northeastern This could either mean an r-less NYC or Providence accent or one from Jersey which doesn`t sound the same. Just because you got this result doesn`t mean you don`t pronounce R`s.(People in Jersey don`t call their state "Joisey" in real life)
