I'm boring.
I find dinner and a movie perfect for a first date...
and second and third and fourth and fifth and sixth...

Personally I would go with some type of fantasy novel, maybe The Black Company or any book from the Wheel of Time Series. Or you could go with a classic like The Hobbit. This will make room for discussion on your World of Warcraft characters level, his top 5 pieces of gear and your fascination with anything involving Dwarves.
And remember, nothing reminds a girl of her place better than a firm back hand across the cheek. Girls like to be told what to do, and this sets the tone.

Go to the Zoo, best thing for first/early dates. You can keep talking the whole time, and there's always a conversation starter.

I believe on a first date that you should put your girl up on a pedestal, not to worship her, but to be able to see up her dress.

What kind of 'shooting range' are we talking about?
Change the post-activity coffee to a cigarette and it's more enjoyable, trust me.

Take her to the pound! Tell her you like to see the dogs/cats that are going to be euthanized and how it makes you feel superior.

If you both like cooking, I think Sunterra still offers cooking classes where you'll be able to cook something together one evening. Guided tour of Benard Callebeau another good idea

I've done that plenty of times. That McRib thread looks tasty.

We'd have to mix it up... with going to the zoo or a flames game by the 10th date

Don't have one here at work sorry. My avatar used to be a picture of me in a baseball cap. But I found this animated one cuter with the iPod and the girly pink shoes.
I've mentioned it before in other thread..
Think of the typical/stereotypical short/small chinese girl

Hilarious! As soon as a girl comes into this thread everyone starts interhitting on her.

The dinner & a movie thing is so overdone and unoriginal. You want to stand out to the rest of the fools she dates. You want to show her that you're someone she can have fun with. Apart from confidence women love a guy can make them laugh. Take her bowling, mini golf, laser tag (as someone mentioned already), wine tastings (there's one tonight at the wine store in Banker's Hall), anything that will make this date & you stand out in her mind. Wait until you're in a relationship and out of ideas to do the old dinner & a movie thing. Oh, and whatever you do...don't do something where you're spending a crap load of money because that will make you look like someone who needs to buy approval.
