You should be careful you don't get sick Dan. If you have to go to a hospital down there, they won't admit you unless you can quote your scriptures, and say seven Hail Mary's. I'm pretty sure I've read that somewhere.

It was filmed in Georgia, not sure where it was supposed to be set.

Georgia, according to Wiki.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deliverance

Quote:
Four Atlanta men — Lewis, Ed, Bobby, and Drew — (played by Reynolds, Voight, Beatty and Cox, respectively) decide to canoe down the fictional Cahulawassee River in the remote Georgia wilderness, expecting to have fun and see the glory of nature before the river valley is flooded over by the upcoming construction of a dam and lake. The trip turns into a terrifying ordeal revealing the primal nature of man, his animal instincts of predation and survival, and even his potential for violence.

Deliverance was shot in the Tallulah Gorge in Elberton, Georgia and on the Chattooga River, dividing the states of Georgia and South Carolina. Additional scenes were shot as well in Clemson, South Carolina and Sylva, North Carolina.

I think most places have some hold over laws that are inane. I think there's one in Calgary in fact about commercial places are required to have horse hitch out side, I seem to remember that from somewhere. I know the guy that does Harry the Historian on CBC in the afternoons on thrusdays, perhpas he told me.
