I'm so amazed that I've seen NIN come up as much as they have. I really dig Trent's stuff.

And to add to the thread...anything with THREE or 3 in it.

Three Dog Knight
Three Days Grace
Three Doors Down
etc etc

Yeah, I'm not really sure what the point of Coldplay is except to sound exactly like Radiohead, which thankfully was also mentioned in this thread.

U2 - have never known what's so special about their music. Sounds like ordinary rock to me for the most part, with a bit of pop in it.

Oh, and whoever said Tool should be shot.

Not in terms of exact music, but that same melancholic type of British music.

I am glad that Hendrix and CCR hasn't shown up in this thread yet.

My 4 most hated "great" bands/acts are:
U2
Elvis
Eagles
Rush

I never understood how the Tragically Hip became anything more than a garage band. There is a group of guys acroos the street from me that have a garage band going and I would buy a collection of their songs before I would accept a Hip CD for free. It's no wonder to me why they never cought on anywhere outside of their home country.

wow, how could I forget U2? Early stuff is passable, but anything beyond that is right up there with my most loathed. That "you've got to get yourself together" song is easily in my top 10 most hated songs of all time.

I think it had something to do with them having great music, being awesome in concerts and not sucking like the guys across the street from you.
