Has anyone been able to get online matches to work? I tried playing an "Anyone Battle" and I keep losing connection to other players, and sometimes I lose connection to the network..

Pokemon Revolution online battles, and Internet Channel, etc. work fine, and I have a wireless range booster right beside my Wii.

I haven't been able to get 'With Anyone' to work yet. It never even connects to anyone. I've had some good online matches with my friends though.

I'm sure it's just server issues, every game has them when they first come out. Too many people trying to connect, not enough power on the servers, Nintendo guys working around the clock to iron it out... within a couple weeks it should be stable.

If you have connection issues, it might be with the people you are connecting with, hosting the match.

The matches aren't staged on the servers. It's a peer-to-peer thing.

Snake is really easy to unlock too. Just gotta play the Snake stage 15 times. The key is to 1 stock, then run out of bounds heh.

Oh okay. Glad I'm not the only one with this issue. The spectator feature seems to work well though. It's kind of amusing betting on people's games lol.

P.S. Squirtle officially rules in my book now!

I just did an online match with a friend. I'm in Toronto and he's in Edmonton, and the lag was really really noticeable. Wasn't bad to the point that we couldn't have fun, but I think both of us were pretty gimped. I'd say the lag was around 400-500ms.

I'm curious as to how the "With Anyone" is going to work if it's going to be a North America wide thing, because the lag would be absolutely bad if I had to play someone from LA or Vancouver.

I was doing 4-player online with friends last night for about 90 minutes and it was a BLAST! It wasn't running at FULL speed but one couldn't say it was laggy. Soooo much fun.

Do you find the lack of voice chat hinders the experience at all or does it not really matter?

Voice chat would add to it, but honestly you don't really notice it isn't there. The game is so fast paced, honestly most of it would just be "OHHHHHh!"

Voice chat is one of the most overrated things in video games. Go on a game of Halo and just listen to people talk. 95% of the time the game would probably be more enjoyable if you just shut it off. Very rarely do people actually use it to discuss strategy and the like.

The dissapointment with Brawl's online comes from the complete lack of any leaderboards or ranking system. Really dumb idea, it makes playing against random people online totally pointless. You might as well play against 3 level 9 computers... it's pretty much the same experience, without the lag. With Friends is a blast though.

Online has been working almost flawlessly for me so far. I'm in Sundance and I've been playing with my brother in Springbank and my other brother in Seattle often with very little problem. I wonder if they can iron out some of the online stuff as the game goes. It's going to have to be fast, clean and smooth for MarioKart Wii next month.

I was actually able to play some random people yesterday night for the first time. Seems like things are finally starting to settle out a bit.

Samus + screw attack ftw! I also do surprisingly well with Peach and Kirby. Princess' up-b attack is just as good as Samus' screw attack. As for Kirby, I think it just has to do with being able to float up high then dropping on people with impunity :P

My favorites would have to be the Links, Marth, Ike, and Mr. Game and Watch.

Those seem to fit my style best.

Had an online match with a friend and you could notice the lag, but it wasnt really a hinderance to game play. Also, if there is any company that i would trust to take care of its customers, its nintendo, so i am sure they will iron out the kinks in the online play soon enough.

Wow, Marth and Mr. Game and Watch? You must be really good at that game, those are the characters I feel are the least effective / most constrictive to play... course, I like being cheap and annoying.

I like those guys cause you can easily knock someone out with a smash attack.

Some characters have good special attacks (e.g. Metaknight) but have no finish (weak smash attacks).

Heh, a lot of the best players in the world use Marth.

My big three at the moment are Lucas, Metaknight, and Pokemon Trainer. Toon Link and Sonic are pretty cool too though... Sonic is hard as hell to use effectively.

Sonic's smash ball attack lasts for a ridiculously long time. I don't think there's any way to defend it either!
