U571 and Contact are highly overrated, IMO. We Are Marshall was junk. Fool's Gold is inexcusable. I've seen some terrible movies but this one pretty much took the cak for worst movie ever.

Nope, Black Knight with Martin Lawrence is the worst movie ever. It's Martin Lawrence going back to Medeivel times and he's wearing a make-shift New York Jets jersey. I watched this for free and I still felt cheated.

Amistad was a terrible movie. Horrible.
Time to Kill was good. U-571 was decent. I havent seen Lonestar.
McConaughey has done some decent work, but he's definitely no higher than a B list actor when it comes to talent/success.

Absolutely not! We had a coupon. That might've been my only saving grace.

I dont think anyone here is claiming him to be higher than that. I was just debating a preious poster saying that he has never been in a good movie. But Amistad was an aamzing flick. I guess we are on absolute opposite ends on that one.

If you look at any of the movies he's been in that are actually good it's been because he's in a supporting role or has been carried by better actors. In Amistad he had Morgan Freeman and Anthony Hopkins carrying him.

Time to Kill, he was the lead, sure Sam jackson was in it, but I didnt get the impression that he was carrying him. Amistad, yeah, I;d agree with that.

We Are Marshall was brutally bad, and Matty did an awful job.
Contact sits in the top 20 for awful films of all time. Exactly 18 hours of static? Awful, awful, awful.
Way to take one for the team there Rube, my GF was talking about it last week. I'll get her to read some reviews, and then talk to the buddy I went and saw Spider-Man 3 with.
I'll go to the movie with her if she can successfully explain rage induced homocide to the police to keep me out of jail while the coroner is peeling the teenaged usher's corpse out of the projection booth.

So rube you didn't like the movie, right? Excuse my confusion, but it's not really clear whether or not you liked it. You should probably come right out and tell us instead of dancing around it.

They weren't 'that' bad.
He has mediocre comedies.
