Gordie Howe's neighbour:
http://www.thestar.com/Sports/article/261450
Howe, 79, won a temporary restraining order against the Dorfmans after discovering they had three cameras trained on his home.
The former Detroit Red Wings star and his wife, Colleen, filed an eight-count stalking lawsuit. The Howes claimed the Dorfmans engaged in unlawful eavesdropping and invasion of privacy.
The Howes alleged the Dorfmans have had a camera snapping photos of their house every five seconds – more than 17,000 photos a day.
The Dorfmans claimed the Howes have used their home for business purposes since 2006 in violation of homeowner association rules and township law.
Maclean's recently ran an article telling the neighbour's side of the story.

True. But this is also a golden opportunity to do things that piss off these old ladies, but are completely legal.
IE. Walking around nude on your property (inside or outside), cutting your hedges / trees in weird designs, leaving heaping piles of junk on your front yard; having three-hundred person keggers 4 times a week.
Oh, and if they have a garden, make sure you help yourself to the freshest of vegetables in the middle of the night. Lord knows that garden isn't for there them anyways, it's there for you. I would like to assume that my neighbour grows everything in their garden specifically for me, so naturally, I help myself.

I think a lot of the things you mentioned are not legal.

I've had the By-Law cops called on me when I was building my car.
My friends and I spent the better part of an entire summer in my Garage putting my Mustang together. This generally entails between 3-10 buddies, a ton of beer and a lot of noise.
Naturally parking was the first concern, and the By-Law guy came by. I had been complained on. Here is where it got interesting, the old lady who reported me came out when the By-Law guy showed up.
She had been complaining that my friends were parking in the back laneway and she had to dodge all these cars to get to her garage, and it had been this way for weeks.
I just responded that, okay, it makes sense, but I didnt think it was a problem, we're not blocking her garage or anything and nobody said anything. If it had been pissing you off for weeks then you should have just asked me to ask them to park elsewhere. Very simple fix. The By-Law guy said that because its the back laneway its public property and they can park wherever they want.

I think in that situation the lady might have been intimidated by a large group of dudes drinking. At least you guys didn't get tickets or anything.
What year Mustang? What did you do to it?

She may have been intimidated but she knows me. Her neighbor and I see each other in the local pub all the time and we're great friends. Hell, he came over and drank with us. Whenever she had a complaint she'd ask him to tell us and I was always very courteous about complying because we all have to live together somehow.
I was surprised when she went to the By-Law guys.
I have an 84 Mustang, we were installing the 347 Stroker I put together along with a ton of other stuff.

We are way too quick to judge. Perhaps Muta is a stunning 22 y/o bartender at Cowboys who needs to express her artistic side by showing off her tatoo.
It could happen.

It's not a crime to park in front of a house that isn't yours on the street and you can have as many vehicles as you want. It's public property, the most they can do is tag your car as an "Abandoned Vehicle" and you have 72hrs to move the vehicle. Even moving the vehicle to the other side of the street is fine.
If you think the parking spot on the street anywhere near your house is your right think again...

Absolutely true. It's just damn annoying when families of 3 have 5 cars that are constantly parked in front of your house.

your neighbours also have the right to harass you if you're that insensitive to other's parking needs.

^ That is not completely true - you can't just park cars all over the place because it is public space. We have zoning laws.
The question is always why there are so many cars.
If they have an illegal suite you can go after them for that.
If they are operating a business out of their home (car brokering maybe? Or in my nieghbours case, running a church out of their home) you can go after them for that.
If they have abandoned vehicles you can go after them for that.
If they are all cars of the residents of the home then yeah, you are screwed.
The one thing you can do in that case is if you have a majority of area neighbours who are also pissed off, you can try to band together against the problematic neighbour and get your street designated a permit only area and then each home will be issued only one permit, etc.

Also, Vehicles parked on the street can only be parked in one spot for (I believe it's) 48 hours. If they are parked without moving for longer than that, technically, they can be towed.

Nope, that is incorrect.
The by-law is 72 hours, and if the car is within a certain distance of the registered address (100 metres IIRC) it can be parked there as long as they want.
I looked into this when I had to park my spare car on the street and I lived in a townhouse complex. The people who's townhouses were closer to the street were mad at me, but I had the same right to park there as they did.
