Great post man. Sometimes, amid the bickering and belittling, this place provides inspiration and comraderie. I wish you all the best, but you've already done the hardest part.

Ain't it the truth. Sometimes amid all our discussions, in the heat of the battle, maybe we should all let our hearts do a bit more talking.

It's the anominity of the Internet that helps.Sometimes, when you are going through a crisis, or have overcome one, you just want to talk to other human beings. The fact they likely don't really know you doesn't matter. You just need some caring words/honest advice sometimes. On a forum such as CP, they are in no short supply.

you know it's weird, how much stock we put into our handles. It's not our "name" per say. It's a title to hid behind, a persona to adopt. Yet for each of us, the name we post as has meaning to us.
When I first signed up for CalPuck I was going through a down time in my life. The nicname I post on for every other board reminds me of an old high school flame, as I got the nicname teasing her. To curb missing her at the time I simply posted under my actual name until I came up with Maritime Q-Scout (back in the days when name changes weren't taboo). I've since fallen in love with the handle, and even the abbreviations of Q, Q-Scout, Scout, and MQS. Hell I made my avatar MQS.
I still post under my old handle on other boards (posting as Maritime Q-Scout on a Maritime QMJHL message boards just isn't quite the same). However the stock we put into a name, the emotions and feelings we tie in with it is very powerful.
A well deserved name change. I always had respect for Snakeeye, especially after the posts regarding his friend and her troubles with divorce, that said the respect I had for him carries over.
Cheers,
the Greatest, aka jonpatterson, aka Maritime Q-Scout

I wish you all the best Resolute 14. I think the number 14 is a good choice. Fleury was and is a favorite of mine too, particularly for his courageous spirit in being the best he could be in spite of all obstacles.
