One of the most interesting lines in the book is near the end, when things were going bad for Hart, and he wrote something to the effect of.

If I wrote a will it would be one page long. If I wrote a suicide note it would be a thousand pages long

He rips on basically his entire family as well. Not to say alot of them didnt deserve it by the sounds of it, I just think theyre interesting comments. The book's a great read and I loved Bret growing up, but from the book I'm getting the impression that he's not a very happy guy these days.

I also just finished Brett's book.

I was absolutely shocked at one point in the book when he described a situation where his sister, under oath, admitted to providing documents to the opposing side in Stu and Owen's widow's wrongful death lawsuit against the WWF, amongst others. Apparently the sister did it out of spite or also to try to get her hubby a job or something. I would flip out if any of my clients had the same stunt pulled on them, and I'm not litigating 40 million dollar wrongful death lawsuits. I have to admit the thought of that and the absolute breach of trust kept me awake last night - especially by a family member.

Great read. I'll try to get my wife to read it and see if she likes it, which will be a good tell on whether it is a good book or just a good book for wrestling fans (because my wife is definately not).

Having said that though, it might also be a book that turns wrestling fans off wrestling for good.

Is there any mention of "Karachi Vice" in the book?

lots about JR Foley, a bit about Duke Myers, but very little about Mike Shaw (aka Mukham Singh), Great Gama, Abu Weasal, Viet Cong Express, Kerry Brown.

He wasn't a fan of Bad News Allen.

Surprising to me was how much respect he had for two guys that I thought were just slugs out there, Mr. Hito and the Cuban Assasin. He even told the story about the day the Cuban was called up to the WWF only to have Bad News Allen cost him his shot.

wow.

You have got to be kidding me. From Brett's book though, Stu probably would have sighed and agreed to let Diana do it. It wasn't Diana that faxed the documents over, according to the book though.

unreal. Look at the stretch marks on Davey Boy's pectorals in the photos. YEAH, that makes me want to buy a DVD. He MUST be legit, everyone who weight trains gets stretch marks like that, right?

Kind've hard to argue with Brett's POV when you hear Stephanie McMahon's interview about her pregnancy storyline which happened a few years ago, in which Vince tried to push the storyline that he himself was the father, and after she turned that down, offered her brother Shane to be the father in the storyline.

"Also, Stephanie McMahon comments that she had to nix a potential incest angle. According to her, Vince was to reveal himself as the father of her baby; when she said no, he pushed for Shane to be the father, but she turned that idea down as well. She also nixed Vince's idea that her wedding to Triple H be aired live on PPV and said that the only reason Vince ever hired Eric Bischoff was to be able to say that his longtime nemesis once worked for him."

I've got stretch marks like that from weight training when I was a teen, and they've never gone away.

I read that horrible book by Diana Hart, if I remember she had her ass sued off by Owen Harts widow and one of the concessions was that all revenues from that book went to Martha Hart. So I'm amazed that an audio version of that book is coming out as the book itself was pulled from the shelf.

(I do have an autographed copy of that book signed by Diana Hart, who when I met her I thought was hot, but had the brain power of a earth worm)

Halfway through this book right now, I can't put it down! I'm only up to 1991 right now, when Bret just won the Intercontinental Championship for the first time, so maybe his views will change as the book goes on, but as of now, I'm surprised how much respect Bret has for Hulk Hogan(I say "as of right now", because Im expecting Bret to have some interesting comments about Hogan regarding what went down at WrestleMania IX in 1993). For some reason I thought Bret always hated Hogan, but it doesnt sound that way in his book. He mentions he thinks Hulk wasn't a very good wrestler, but as a man he respects him. Same with Randy Savage, who he says was great to work with in the ring. And I'm not surprised to learn that the Ultimate Warrior was a douschebag.

Ugh. I've been reading this book till 3am every nite for the past 3 nites. Only 50 pages to go.

What an awesome book. So much info about the Dynamite Kid, my favorite wrestler of all time. Had more info about Dynamite then his own book, Pure Dynamite.

I truly hate Vince Mcmahon. I stopped watching wrestling for good after that Montreal screw job.

I had really high hopes for Pure Dynamite, he was to me one of the best performers ever. His performances looked real and brutal. He was a great heel, especially when he turned on Davey Boy Smith after his return to the WWE.

It was terribly sad to read that book, it was almost like he believed the wrestling was real, and life or death, and he didn't have much respect for the people that he had to work with. For another ugly look at Dynamite Kid, you have to read have a nice day by Mick Foley. He debut in the WWF in the early 90's before he became Cactus Jack. He was one of those enhancement talents that you used to see on Maple Leaf Wrestling. Basically Dynamite Kid and Davey Boy Smith took liberties on Foley, kicked the crap out of him and dislocated his jaw.

There was a CNN special investigation on the WWE and they interviewed Dynamite Kid in England, and you saw a guy that had fallen from extreme heights into bitter lows. He's broke, lives in assisted housing, never sees his daughter, and is a cripple with no hopes for the future.

A wrestling tragedy even though he's not dead.

Just finished Jericho's book (great, great read BTW - highly recommend it) and he also had good things to say about Hogan. Jericho noted that Hogan was the only one from the WCW roster (besides himself and Benoit I believe) that attended Owen Hart's funeral in Calgary after he passed away. A lot of guys in WCW would've know Owen but with all the ego's and the way WCW was f'd up at the time, it said alot about Hogan's character to attend the funeral (based on the ongoing bitter WCW-WWF feud - my interpretation anyway). None of the other WCW wrestlers had the sack or character to show up.

Other interesting note about this in Jericho's book - Owen's funeral was around the time that Jericho was deciding to move to the WWE (WWF at the time). Hogan - who was highly influential and in on all the backstage politics with Nash/Hall/Bischoff etc in WCW - comes up to Jericho after the funeral and asks Jericho if he's going to sign with the WWF. Jericho says yea and Hogan asks him 'can you take me with you?' Found that fairly interesting...

Anyway, just got Hart's book the other day - gotta finish another book here but can't wait to read this one.

Every wrestling book I've read that has any mention of the Ultimate Warrior has never shed him in a good light. The guy really sounds like a loser.
