Quinto is just perfect for the role. I'm glad they got him. This movie has a lot of actors I really like (Morrison, Pegg, Cho, Quinto, Bana). I hope it turns out well... Star Trek could really use a great movie to reboot the franchise.

LOL @ John Cho playing Sulu. Even though I saw Harold and Kumar, I still see him as the MIL* kid from American Pie.

Yup, made me want to not see the movie, and wait for it to come out on free T.V.
Its a typical lazy Trek plot line.

yeah I was kinda unimpressed as well, but then again its super early and I hope its wrong. But I lack the will power you do, I know I am going to see this in Theaters anyways even if I end up hating it.

I'm not too convinced either. To me it sounds like a contrived way to reboot the franchise... introduce some "kewl" new uniforms and a "pimp" new Enterprise that looks more like the Enterprise E and NX-01 than the original that was so popular.
They may find a way to even taint the original that was so universally popular.

yeah and I have a feeling if half the rumors come true (Carol Marcus etc.) that this movie will also try to do to much. I get the feeling that this movie might just try to do to much.

The best re-interpretation of the original star trek was the DS9 episode where the crew of the defiant got flung back in time and became part of the trouble with tribbles episode.
The re-imaging of the original enterprise was excellent and breathtaking.

Given the cast, writers, director, producers, and the budget... I have no reason to suspect this will be a bad movie. I will reserve even initial judgement for the first trailer.

Dax: "He's no much better looking in person."
Sisko: "Kirk had quite the reputation as a lady's man"
Dax: "Not him...Spock!"

Another good one was the episode of "Enterprise" where we caught a glimpse of the Parallel Universe. The parallel NX-01 is sent to investigate an intelligence report that the Tholians had a Terran Starship from the future. Turns out it was the USS Defiant from TOS episode "The Tholian Web."

Damn. I don't usually like Star Trek stuff, but just the fact that Jennifer Morrison is in it will make me go check it out. She is hella fine.

For those who are interested some of the first cast images for the new flick have been released as poster available at Comic Con.

Oh god its going to be Star Trek 90120
Kirk - "Spock, that Uhura is totally hot, should I totally ask her out?"
Spock - "That would be logical Captain, then ensign Sulu can drink too much and drive the enterprise into a black hole thus creating a poignant story line about drinking and driving."
Uhura - "Hello boys, do you like my new purse, this ship is so totally hot"
Nemo or Nero or whatever - "Lets time travel back in time for no conceivable reason, its a natural fix for a bad script wah wah wah"

Cheah, that's not doing 90210 any justice at all. Captain Kirk is no Dylan McKay!

Spock is way more awesome than Brandon Walsh though. And Kelly Taylor kicks Yeoman Rand's butt.
