One of the Nine

Some great bands played the 2007 N.A. fest, like Spoon. Spoon also appeared in Calgary this year for the Sled Island Festival - which, I might add, took place mostly at bars, where, yes, showing one's ID to get in also entitles them to drink during the show. I'm no alcoholic. Beer and rock music go good together, is all. Like beer and hockey. Imagine you had to stand in a cooped-up little cage in the concourse to have your crack Dome beer at a Flames game? How well you think that would go over, hmmm?
"15 minutes for intermission, that sould be enough time..."

I don't know. I googled "Virgin Festival 2008" and this very thread was the 5th hit down the list.
I found this:
http://vfestbeta.com/tag/canada-festivals/
"Follow the blog to find out who is playing" It is ######ed.

That's it? I tried to tune into Global at 9 and got 100 Huntley Street so I guess daylight savings has stymied me again.

Nope, Global had a girl on location at Fort Calgary talking about the big announcement coming at 9am all morning, but they didn't actually cover said announcement. Not that I'm all that surprised, they pretty much mess anything possible up.
Stone Temple Pilots
Tragically Hip
Corb Lund
It'll be cool to see STP but I sure had my hopes up for more of a lineup

I was hoping for more too, but STP will be awesome and the Hip is always a good show.
