btw not all-time worst choke job, but the fact we Flames fans had to go through three game 7 OT losses in five years('91, '94, '95), all at HOME, is beyond sickening.
If there was ever a time that I was ready to jump off of the old bandwagon, it wasn't during the 7 years of non playoff hell, it was that period after the cup ring where we would go up against inferior teams and get the life choked out of us.

At the time making the playoffs just wasn't enough.

Game 7, double OT. My first playoff game.

The highly touted Kidd got badly outperformed by Wade Freaking Flaherty that series. When Irbe went out with an injury I thought we were a shoe in to win. Then that brutal bounce in game 5...

That was in '03, the old River City Relay. The missed kick officially eliminated us from the playoffs(although even if he had made the kick and the Saints had gone on to win in OT, we still wouldve been eliminated a few hours later, after the results of the night game).

I'm upset/happy to say I actually missed that play. I had watched the entire game too, over at my buddy's. There was just under two mins left and Jax picked up the first down, I didnt realize the Saints had a timeout left so I thought Jax was just gonna kneel on it. I told my buddies "f*** it, I'm gonna run to Wendy's, I'll be back in 15". When I cam back, man did they have a story for me!

Im upset I missed it because it was one of the greatest plays in Saints history, but I also say Im actually happy I missed that one because, after watching the RCR and then watching Carney follow it up with that missed extra point, I'd have probably suffered 12 heart attacks on the spot.

I always thought that first "lateral" looked like a forward pass. That play happened during my first season of serious NFL watching. Incredible finish.

I will never forget that slap shot by ZZ that Wade Freaking Flaherty made with the knob of his goal stick

Up 3-0 and the Dome is so loud that you can't hear yourself think. Then Esa Tikkanen skates over center ice and fires one at Vernon. Goes between his legs and the Dome goes silent. Then there's the *&$#@#@# OT goal by Tikkanen to top it off. To add insult to injury, some guy a few rows up tossed his beer all over me in frustration.

I wonder if Theo wasn't so over dramatic after his game 6 OT goal, the Oilers wouldn't have had that extra fire light up their @$$

I dont buy that.

The Oilers were so fired up about Theo that they immediately went 3-0 down in Game 7?

I disagree. The Oilers were flatter than a pancake in the first half of game 7. If Vernon doesn't let Tikkanen's shot from just over center ice go through his legs, we probably win that game. His goal gave the Oil a huge boost while at the same time seemed to deflate the Flames. Let's just say that Vernon had a habit of letting in bad goals at the most inopportune times.
