I think that there are definitely elements in Iran who want the conflict in Israel/Palestine to continue. It is a very powerful prophaganda tool for them.
I don't know if I would go as far to say that Israel is pacifist either...That being said, I agree they have nothing to gain from a nuclear strike. Say what you want about their policies, Israel's leaders are largely educated people who would not use a nuclear strike hastily.
