Yeah, Robert the chef had such a look of glee on his face when Gordon was laying into Peter he looked like someone just told him he won the lottery.

The first show certainly does seem pretty sensational compared to the British series they show on Food TV with all those fights and threats of violence and so forth. I wonder if its going to continue or Fox just wanted to kick the series off with a bang. I also miss the part where Ramsay shows up for a surprise meal a few weeks later. I wish they would have left that part of the show in. I'm guessing they probably had time constraints.

I think the fights had more to do with Peter's roid rage. Why the heck would Peter think that Gordon needed someone to stand up for him if he was being talked to in a disrespectful manner?

And I don't think they specifically said on the show but did that one guy
actually repo Peter's car?

The part that bothered me most about the US show vs the UK show was that it seemed like the problems were solved by Gordon/FOX buying them a new kitchen. In the UK, it doesn't seem like problems were solved by throwing money at them.

Oh yeah, good call. I forgot to mention this. The show obviously has a bigger budget now. In the UK version, Ramsay would have made Peter sell his car and use that money to buy the kitchen equipment (like in the UK version where he made the guy sell his 'A-1 chef' licence plate or where he threw out that other guy's trophies). Selling the car would have helped reinforce the point that Peter was being a selfish ass and ruining the restaurant by putting himself first and got the money required for the kitchen.

I thought K-ville was alright, maybe will watch again to see where it goes.

Looking forward to Reaper and Supernatural; the only replacements for Angel and Buffy!

Isn't there a show called Pushing Daisies or something that is highly touted. Read about it in the paper they said the pilot was one of the best hours of TV you may watch. Enticing.

I have to watch Desperate Housewives (I really don't want to) because Captain Malcolm Reynolds is on the show this year!

I'm not sure what's been aired on Showcase, but Deadwood has been cancelled. There are 3 seasons, in the future they have promissed to make 2 movies to end it.

Creater David Milch is focused on the new series "John from Cincinnati".

I was a big fan of the UK Kitchen Nightmares - didn't enjoy the American as much. Too over the top and I missed more interaction between Ramsey and the chef, as well as solving the logistical issues of what the establishment was failing. The UK version seemed more toned down but brought you more insight into how the resteraunt industry really works. Ah well - I'll still watch it.

A couple of OLN shows I'm wondering if anyone knows the premiere dates for:

Survivorman - has already premiered in the US.

Long Way Down - sequel to the Ewan McGregor/Charlie Borman motorcycle trek Long Way Round.

That's pretty much the way I've watched TV in recent years. I can't stand watching shows week-to-week. But now that I am caught up, I'm in a bind. I watched LOST on TV last year, and much prefer to watch it on DVD. I guess since I'm caught up on a lot of these shows, I have to watch them when they come on TV.

Long way down was purchased by the BBC and there are no air dates.

It is nearly impossible to get any information on Survivorman. Even when season 1 was airing, I had a hard time finding when the last few new episodes would air.

Anyone have any info on Top Gear?

I don't know, but I love the show.

Saw the classic "Sexy Action News Team" episode last night. Great stuff.

Anyone have info on when Kenny vs Spenny gets going again?

Do you mean season 11? I think the last episode I saw was D-Yikes, the 300 spoof.

From Airplane - Leslie Nielson's doctor character.
