Well once again the NFL pulls it's favorite trick on his. Hypes up a great game, sucks us all into watching...and than the game is a total dud in which one team absolutely owns the other. Interesting to note everyone in the pickem pool picked Indy to win this game. Evidently we all should have picked them to score the most points this week and put 16 points on it.

Madden mentioned it last night, how the Colts only have 4 players on there 53 man roster that have played for another team in the NFL.

It was a great game. I think everyone is quite surprised about the margin of victory. It's not like they can control the conditions to make it a close game. It's real sport, not WWE... 1...2...2 and 3/4 ooohhhh so close to a fall!

It was? A blow out where one QB looks like he's playing against a highschool secondary while the other averages less than 7 yards per completion?

Maybe it was how explosive Bush was and how evenly matched the game was. Please, the 10-10 tie at halftime was not a true indication of how one-sided that half was.

Pay attention to the AFC this year because the top 8 teams in the entire NFL are from the AFC...at least.

Why they don't just stick with a division matchup is beyond me. What are the best games to watch? Cowboys vs Redskins, Steelers vs Browns, Bears vs Packers, Eagles vs Giants, Chiefs vs Raiders, Jets vs Dolphins. The teams that truly hate each other and have a storied rivaly. More often than not these games will be exciting and close. Or at least a safer bet for a exciting game.

But no, they allways have to pick some marquee matchup that looks good on paper, but stinks in reality. Everyone knows the majority of the strong teams play in the AFC right now. Why pick the defending Super Bowl Champions to play a team from the weaker conferance right now? To prove how lopsided it really is?

Weren't you afraid that NO could possibly exploit the Indy defense?
Weren't you considering betting on NO.

It was a good matchup and people were all hyped up for it. Just turned out to be a blowout.. blowouts happen.

Besides.. the opening game on a thursday night isn't really the marquee game.. the big ones all year will be on Sunday Night. That's where you'll get your divisional rivalries starting with Giants-Cowboys.

It's week 1. A good appetizer for the rest of the season.
My expectation weren't high. I didn't expect an NFL Films classic on the very first night. I expect the season to get better and better

Well for the most part the rest of the Sunday night games do look to be divisional games with the odd exception. In fact I'd argue theres too many NFC East games myself. I mean they marketed the game right, they picked two teams who are sort of feel good stories after a bad year of player perception to maket. How many Peyton Manning and Reggie Bush commercials were there? Really they sold the match up really well....NFL has always been great at selling the sizzle even if the steak is crap.

Man I loved that game last night! It was great to see Peyton in a zone right in week 1. He was unstoppable last night! Reggie Wayne had a monster game as well and did a great job breaking free from his coverage. I wasn't expecting to win by a blowout but that's a great first game especially by the defense (the #1 question mark regarding the Colts this year did fine for atleast the first week!)

Peyton Manning is playing the qb poistion like nobody else in football right now. Always in control of what he wants to do and where he wants to go with the ball. An amazing talent that may have smashed many records when all is said and done.

I think by the end of his career he'll own every major passing record. The guy is amazing - no one is so physically gifted, has such command and understanding of his offense and works as hard studying the opponent as Manning.

When he retires, Manning will be the first name people say when they talk about the greatest QB of all time... ahead of Montana, Elway, Marino and Unitas.

I wasn't afraid of anything. Besides picking Indy in my pool, I could of cared less who won. I don't bet that often. Thought maybe the over under was a bit low. But woudn't you know it? The odds makers allmost had it dead on. Scary how often that happens. I also openly wondered which Colts run D would show up. The one during the regular season that inspired opponents to go for it on 4th down? Or the one that gave the Colts the Vince Lombardi trophy? Looks, so far, like the run D is fine. Either that or the Saints run game needs some serious work.

How can you not call last nights game the marquee game? They purposly single it out to start three days before the rest of the league starts on the following Sunday. They advertise the heck out of it. Have a huge kickoff party with all sorts of musical talent. If that isn't supposed to be a showcase game? I don't know what is.

Don't buy it man, the Saints were in the NFC championship game, it was a compelling matchup. The halftime score was 10-10, hardly a dud up to that point, Manning played a perfect game, and the Colts lines dominated the second half, blowouts happen, especially when emotions are high, and momentum changes quickly.

Well, its finally the big day. I love Sunday mornings during football season. Get your fantasy team(s) in check. Watch some NFL network. Go over the sports select odds all morning so you can make a mad dash to your local lottery outlet to get your picks in before kickoff. Agonize over your suicide pool picks. After its all over. You get to flip through all the games on NFL network the entire day.

Looks like the Chiefs coudn't stand to watch their rookie kicker miss any more FG's.

BAL needs a QB that can pass the ball. McNair and Boller were brutal. Why didn't the Ravens just pound it in when they had 1st and goal?

Yeah first and goal from the 5.....Run the thing 4 times if you have to. Dumb play calling by Billick especially with Kyle Boller in the game. Oh well you don't turn the ball over 6 times and win an NFL football game on the road.

I still just feel sick about the Buffalo player who was injuried. I'm having a tough time enjoying the games tonight.

I once coached a game that resulted in 9 players being injured, a few ended up in the hospital. There must be a way to legislate how you hit, but that's for another day.

What I learned in Week one (actually learned in wk three of the preseason) is the KC is awful and will fight it out with Oakland for the right to choose Brohm.

Houston will be just fine with their new #8

The three division favorites in the AFC are light years ahead of the rest of the league

The Giants are irrelevant, especially with their injuries.

But of the things I have learnt I still don't get why Jacksonville doesn't trot SOMEONE out to kick a field goal on 4th and 10, down by three on about the 25 yard line.
