you are cheap. and if you can't figure out 15% in your head add half of what you're going to tip to what you already have, it's really not that hard.
Now that GST is 6% i usually triple the tax so I tip 18% if the service is good, fifteen for average, and 10 for bad. It also depends on the "bad". If the server is really really rude, then i'll tip next to nothing, but if the service is "slow" because it's friday night at Joey's and the restaurant is a mad house but she keeps the pops refilled and checks to see if we need anything, i'll still tip 15%.
also, tip is supposed to be "pre tax".
I tip 6 dollars on a 39 dollar hair cut. it just works out easier to give 45 bucks, it has nothing to do with percentage. I figure since i'm paying 40 bucks for a haircut the girl gets a decent cut of that.
