It is a little bit more linear than I thought. Still limitless things to do with the plasmids.

Save the Little Sisters! You get something awesome!

mosy PC game companies use that kind of copy protection or some derivative like Starforce. It's unavoidable these days but still stupid because you will always be able to get around it.

But do they have a hard limit of 2 installs allowed?

What an unbelievable game.

The visuals are stunning. And as mentioned a few times, the atmosphere is like no other.

Ok I bit too. Awesome game. But I'm kind of stuck. I don't have enough power to defeat the big daddy! Is there a good strategy to kill them?

With the big daddys I like to make sure my first hit on him is a big one. Set up proximity mines on the path your going to take the daddy, hit him with a rocket or a propane tank or something, then run away while he hits your mines. Then just take the shotgun to him around corners and make sure your not out in the open.

Yup, electro shot gun to the face is the way to go for big daddies. I love how the little girls egg him on and trash talk you while you fight.

Same here. They can go screw themselves if they put that on.

I'm sure they're going to make millions anyways....who cares if 100 people use it on other computers.

Same... I'm so against their copy protection tactics that now I won't even buy it on the 360, which I had planned to do. I suppose that only hurts me, but there will be better games coming out in 6 months.

The game is set up as good vs. evil. Evil is the control exhibited in the underwater metropolis. The company that makes the game shows the same kind of control that makes them look more like the antagonist.

You can still boycott the company and help yourself by buying a used copy for the 360.

I have the 360 version (with a big screen to play it on I might add )and it plays great. For me I don't really like the mouse and keyboard combo, but I know lots of people who do. Watching this game play on a home theater, I have to say they have thought of almost everything in a FPS! I like it alot and recommend it to even players who don't like the genre.

Yeah that is what I like about it. A lot of variety with the FPS part, with a very strong storyline/rpg element. You really get the feeling of being immersed in the filth and destruction of Rapture, something which so few games are able to capture, especially FPS games.

This is a great game but there are a couple things that annoy me,

I think the switching of powers should have been done from a pause menu instead of finding a machine. I know there are plenty scattered around but it seems like a waste of time, especially when you have only a couple slots.

Sometimes the electricity in the water doesn't connect with the enemies and I end up getting hit when I expected them to get shocked.

The mines that the big daddies drop should be able to be picked up with telekinesis. I also tried dropping a dead body on one of them and was disappointed to not see it go off.

Some smaller nitpicks now,

The tapes are a cool immersion technique and they have great voice acting but it interrupts gameplay a bit. I know you can still move around but sometimes it's hard to hear so I end up putting on subtitles and standing still to read them.

When you get to your first shadow on the wall scene it's really creepy but I was disappointed with finding I didn't cast a shadow standing in the same spot as the enemy as well.

Geez guys, differentiate between developers and publishers. It's more than likely that the publishers and not the people who actually put in the hard work to make the game that forced the condition of that form of copy protection.

Securom and Starforce, etc. and all their evils will become even more and more prevalent on retail purchased games. Remember that copies downloaded off Steam (and technically circumventing publisher/distributer) will be able to copied from computer to computer ad infinitum.

True, but giving your opinion with your $$$ will be the only way to show them what we think.

I understand the difference. I have friends and relatives in the industry.

These evils do NOTHING to prevent piracy. Bioshock is available from many different sources. All this does is make the lives difficult for people who want to be honest. It is making me consider aquiring this title through other means.

(and yeah, this can be purchased through Steam, but that is the exception)

Edit: On a related note, Microsoft's Anti-piract measure, Windows Genuine Activation (WGA) was down for part of the weekend (it is now fixed, although original esimates were 3 days to fix), and not only were people unable to activate Vista or XP, people attempting to install updates that required a WGA check were being flagged as non-genuine (and losing some functionality). Imagine if something like this happened to a company without the resources of Microsoft (like Securom or Starforce).
