Sorry to derail your thread... speaking of rails though, what about a Canadian Rockies tour via the railway? I hear they're pretty nice.

I am disappointed that no one has suggested the best idea ever…there are a few simple steps to follow

Step 1: Cut a hole in a Box….

Sometimes the gift fits the moment to a tee. Should that perfect gift that fits the moment be tossed aside because, as you say, it costs too much money?

When I buy gifts for family and loved ones I focus on what will give that person some pleasure and enjoyment. Some years I might spend a lot and other years not much. Cost is never a factor as i don't believe in putting a "dollar value" on someone I care about.

Absolutely, and i'm the same way. $600 on a weekend isn't necessary to spend time alone with that special someone. It can be done with popcorn and a bottle of wine for much less.

Very nice and very very expensive. Too expensive for the experience IMO unless she is some sort of crazy train nut (one can only hope )

Maybe for you, but that doesn't mean it's not necessary for others. I see nothing wrong with a $600 weekend depending on the circumstances. My parents did that sort of thing in the past from time to time and never looked back at what they did.

A weekend at the hotsprings is a cheaper alt to Banff/Jasper and a nice quiet weekend away.
Me and my girl did that once and it was nice until we both got violently ill from food poisoning and ended up in the ER at Invermere.
