I'll respectfully disagree. A small brewery that has excellent, hand crafted beer is worth the money that is charged. At least in my opinion. I'd much rather pay $8 or $9 US for a six pack of micro brewed beer than $11 for an 18 pack of a mass-produced goldenwater.

Do you know how much of the money you spend beer and all other alcohol is tax? It is something like 60%. Even at duty free it is still something like 40%. It is mass, mass, mass produced and then the government steps in and gets their paws on it.
I agree that micro brewed beer is great, don't get me wrong.

-Lacoste polos
-Homes in Calgary
-Alcohol, especially at restaurants/bars (Talk about marking up and taxing the piss out of something)

The cost of vanity is limitless. The cosmetics/haircare/fragrance industry is one of the biggest scams ever perpetrated. I believe Clive Christian #1 retails for ~$2000 USD/oz. Hey, it's just smelly water.

Wait'll you get through the wedding. That list will get longer
I'll say cars, and moving.
Car guys are genius. Most other consumer products get better and cheaper over time. Cars get more expensive, and people love it. Go figure.
I don't understand moving costs. $150 a hour for two pot-heads from the drop in centre to trash your stuff.

Concert Tickets.
TicketMaster service charges on concert tickets.
I complain about them being expensive, and still pay the money. So do thousands of others. If they can sell out, I guess you can't really fault them.

Definately perfume & cologne.
Grapes. I love grapes....but I seriously can't afford them.
Starbucks.
Also parking in downtown Calgary.
....and on a side-note I would like to add that I am mightily impressed with redforever's vast knowledge of peppers.

-Movie tickets, seriously, it costs nearly 60$ for an average family to go see a movie and have popcorn.
-Stampede... anything at the stampede. Did they jack the prices by 500% this year? 8$ for a single patty lump of "beef"? 5$ for a flat cup of coke?
-Ski hill lift tickets. I get the cost, it just bugs me since I can't go skiing more often.

Hallmark cards. I work there, and cards on a level is already stupid to begin with. Because what you're doing is basically paying $3.00 for a little piece of cardboard. But some of you men amaze me. You come in, don't bother to read the card, pick the biggest one you can find, slap it down on the counter, and blammo, you are charging freaking $8.50 on your credit card. This I do not understand. And all the while, you are complaining about it.

Buy a decent electric. It'll last forever and the blades are not very expensive even if you replace them yearly. If you claim they hurt your face go to The Shaver Shop, they'll set you straight.
