So the title of this thread mentions Stelmach, but it is actually Morton who raised the issue. Is this actually being considered, or is Morton just speaking out of turn?
And do any other provinces issue driving learners permits at 14? I know Ont. you can't get one until 16, and when you get your license it is a 2 year graduated license.
I agree with most of what was said here. But as for the '19 years old to keep it out of high schools' thing, I went through high school in Ontario and at that time Ont. had grade 13 for students planning on attending university, so I was 19, legal to drink and in high school. If that is the excuse being used now, it is flawed. Everyone has a sibling or friend who is legal (or with fake ID) who can get them alcohol.
