Respect moving water, people. I've got a cabin on another large river (the Shuswap river before it hits Mara) and it's amazing to me how much power a river has without much depth. It doesn't take much for it to submerge you and push you against something .. you fall off your raft without a PFD even BEFORE the weir on a river as large as the bow and you could be in trouble.

No respect for the power and brutality of nature.

Looks like they found a body, and police suspect it may be one of the missing rafters.

Police believe a body found less than two kilometres south of the Bow River weir on Sunday could be one of two Quebec rafters missing since June 10.

The men, Yan Bherer and Remi Bouchard, both aged 28, were rafting with a group of friends on the river when their inflatable boat plunged over the weir north of 17th Avenue.


Hopefully for the sake of the families the find the bodies. I was watching a news report that some of the survivers had continued to search for the bodies; so the parents could have some closure.
