The thing I don't like about Rosie, is she makes a claim or says something and then looks at the audience for approval. It would be so easy on that show and with that audience to slam Bush or the war. Elizabeth is easily in a far more difficult chair than Rosie is.

She's in a more difficult position because less than 30 percent of the country likes the war and the president.
I'm sure if rosie was talking about evolution and liz was talking about creationism, it'd be the same scenario.

That if invoke an exit date it would be giving the opposition the gameplan. Doesn't really make a whole lot of sense.

Nah, just replace the old nags that host it with other reality tv bimbos, like Elisabeth, and then let them settle their arguments at the end of the show with some good old-fashioned mud wrestling.

The part that made me lose what little respect for Rosie that I had was when she martyred herself and said "It's big, loud lesbian Rosie picking on little, pretty, Christian Elisabeth".
Such bs.
She defines herself by her sexuality....and that is a sad, sad thing.

Rosie's "definition" of herself as a lesbian is to help bring light to issues that face gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered (GLBT) people in the US. We here in Canada are far more tolerant of the GLBT community than the United States is. They need someone to stand up and have a voice for them, and one of those people is Rosie.
She's very brave to be taking that position, as it wouldn't be easy to know every morning when you wake up that half* of the country hates you because of who you share your bed with.
*I use half loosely, really based more on how many states chose not to allow gay marriage on open votes.

Yeah, that part is great.
That's ALL she offers anymore though. Nothing else. That is SAD.

No, not at all.
Every time I see her on TV....whether it be this fight on The View..(which I saw on local news btw) or any other clip I see of her she qualifies what she says with her sexuality.

Maybe there is some validity to her statement then when she characterizes herself as being portrayed as "Big, Loud, Lesbian Rosie."

Is she doing it for that reason or is it just to keep her name out there? She never took up the cause until after she made big money and her talk show flamed out. Before that she was drooling over Tom Cruise daily.
Now she can keep her name in the headlines by babbling on whenever there's some sort of homosexual story in the news.

Oh yeah that's it. She came out of the closet to keep herself famous. She actually came out during her talk show, not that it matters as you form your wild theories on Rosie talking about sexuality actually being a bad thing.
It always amazes me that when people don't like someone they will find any reason to see each thing they do as bad.
I think her point is somewhat valid. If Rosie was attractive, she would be treated much different by the general population. Same thing if she was a man.

The GLBT community in the States suffers as a whole, and yes I am qualified as my involvement in Calgary's GLBT brings in me contact with a great number of GLBT people from the states.
Rosie is a very brave person to take up this fight. I don't see very many other prominent members of that community doing it. Great, Lance Bass is gay...what has he done for the community other than coming out.
GLBT people in the States are some of the most discriminated people in the US...someone needs to take a stand for them and Rosie is doing that. As a result she is seen as the loud mouth, fat, lesbian - good for her.

Well you should try watching her. How Elizabeth is on the show is beyond me, she's as stupid as they come, she doesn't add anything to the show besides a young 'hot' girl to look at, although mainly only women watch that show. Rosie brought in that spark that show was lacking, before her (although I did watch it all the time) it was boring, after Rosie got on the show you ALWAYS had something to talk about, she's ENTERTAINING.

She portrays herself that way....boisterously.
She played the me against the world card. Hate it.

Women and college students IIRC are the biggest watchers of the View. So bringing on a hot chick would make sense.

When did I say she wasn't?
I think she's absolutely hilarious!
I think they showed on the news that the ratings for the show went up like 30% since Rosie joined the show. She's definitely has something to offer.
I just don't understand why she wants to be a martyr.
