My apologies. It was the result of scanning over the thread looking for the SpeedTest.Net images. I completely missed photon's test.

Not to turn this into a pissing contest (since I honestly don't care - that happy dance post was tongue-in-cheek), but...

But of course, this test was performed late at night with no background programs running, so it's a little on the extreme side of things.

NICE! I've hit over 10mpbs on the download before on dspreports, but my upload is always limited to 1mbps, that's almost twice!

Thought I'd try at work just for fun. Now if only I could get this kind of speed at home.

I don't buy my upload speed for a second - it's almost twice what I normally get when testing, and my upload speeds when dealing with my web server are poor. That could just be the fault of my hosting company, though. Yeah, that's the ticket.

Anyway, like I said, I think I caught everything at just the right time. As for BlackEleven - photon hit the nail on the head.

"We're not worthy! We're not worthy! We're scum...we suck!"

Since you are on DSL, that's exactly what you can expect, so good.

I got 6737 and 638 upload.

I have Shaw Extreme. I love it. I've been downloading torrents at 800k+.

Telus was a rip off in my eyes.

We make software for video editing & special effects. I'm not sure what kind of internet connection it is, but we need really high end hardware to get the best possible perfomance so we get a lot of cool stuff. The internet connection is the least of it.

OK, I just downloaded TCP Optimizer [it's free] and I got my best download yet of 6453kp/s. I don't really know how good this program is or how safe it is, but here you go.

Here is my work connection.

Apparently it's better than my home connection, although at times it doesn't seem like it is.
