Hearing loss runs rampant in my family. At my last doctors visit, he said I am right on the bubble for needing hearing aids. Ah well. If someone is talking to me, and there is any sort of background noise at all, I cannot hear the person talking to me whatsoever. I've realized over the last few years that some people thought I was a jerk upon first meeting me because I didn't respond to them. Turns out I just never heard them. Its frustrating.

I have definitely suffered some hearing loss from listening to my Walkman too loud 20 years ago. I've gotten to the point where I'm wearing earplugs to concerts and on flights now. I will probably see someone (like hearingloss.ca who advertises during the noise-o-meter at Flames games) but my pride has been stopping me so far.

Teenage Head - man, that brings back memories.

We should go see that. They don't look so "teenage" anymore. I saw them perform all those years ago at a community hall on 69th st sw - now it is some kind of church.

Sometimes I like to FEEL my music. (My speakers go to 11)

When I was a teenager, I'd crank the music when my parents were out. They've arrive home and yell at me, 'turn that #&$^% down'.

Now I'm a lot older and supposedly more responsible, right? A while back I had the tunes cranked. My teenage daughter walks in the room ... 'Dad, could you turn it down?'.

First it was my parents, now it's my kids. Nobody understands.
