Absolutely Arrested Development is the biggest tragedy. I still have a hard time believing that nobody wants to resurrect it. I figured it would be like Futurama... maybe it will still happen.
One of my favorites is Samurai Jack. Just brilliant and unlike any other animated TV show out there, cancelled after 4 seasons. Apparently it's creator, Genndy Tartakovsky, is determined to return to it and finish the storyline.
Good call on American Gothic. I have really fond memories of that show from my teenage years.
In a side-note regarding The Lone Gunmen, I once saw Frohicky in the Kensington Safeway. He was buying milk.

Glad to see The Lone Gunmen listed. I loved those guys on X-Files, and enjoyed watching that lone season a lot.
Anyone a Stargate SG-1 fan? That show finally got cancelled after 10 years. I watched the last episode a couple weeks ago. There is going to be a couple DVD movies though that complete the story. And supposedly there will be a third Stargate series. Not sure what it's about but the big rumor is it has something to do with time travel. I'm excited! SG-1 = my favourite TV series of all-time. Atleast I still have Atlantis to hold me over until the DVD movies and third series is out.

I'm still in shock that "Jack of all Trades" is in that list. That used to be Saturday afternoon TV watching for me (along with Cleopatra 2525), but worth ressurecting? Doubtful.
Just getting into Arrested Development and Dead Like Me now - long after they've been cancelled. Too bad. One from last year I wish would have lasted was called "Sons and Daughters" - it would have been on the same lines as AD - a bit offensive, but hilarious.

I haven't seen it yet here, but Sledgehammer was one of my favorite comedies, and the lead actor played the overly violent cop so well. The cliff hanger ending of the first season and how they got out of it in the second season was comedy at it best.
(Basically Sledgehammer had to disarm a nuclear bomb in the last five minutes of season 1 or the city was toast and all the main characters would die. The last line you heard from him was "Trust me I know what I'm doing"
The next season started out with the usual theme and the usual graphic, and they added on the words "The early years"
Comedy at its best)
Angel shouldn't have been canceled like it was.
Arrested development was brilliant
Futurama had run its course for me.
Firefly was great and could have used another season.
I'm a big fan of Friday Night Lights and I hope it gets renewed.

I don't understand how everyone I know loved AD, but it still got cancelled.
If you haven't watched Friday Night Lights yet, do yourself a favour and put in the time. I really enjoy this show.

"The Norm Show was an American television sitcom that ran from 1999 through 2001 on the ABC television network. The show focused on the life of Norm Henderson ( Norm Macdonald), a former NHL hockey player who is banned for life from hockey due to gambling and tax evasion"-Wikipedia
I think the guy is hilarious, but apparently nobody else does considering the way his career has gone down the toilet. He plays one of the BELL beavers now.
The Family Guy- Thank god they brought it back.

Norm's hilarious and his show wasn't bad, problem is he can't act at all. Really funny guy though.

Your wish has been granted. Maybe.

A day before the freshman series' season finale, the network on Tuesday ordered six additional scripts of the critically praised but low-rated series.
While this is short of the early second-season order NBC recently bestowed on another struggling rookie, the comedy "30 Rock," the order does strengthen "Friday"'s chances for a return next season.

I'm just going to mention Space: Above and Beyond. I really miss that show. Though I do have every episode on tape, it still pisses me off.

I thought Dead Like Me season 1 was one of the best things I had ever seen. Then MGM started changing the script for season 2 and it went into the toilet. When the writer says "Yeah, they wanted us to do a 3rd season, but I didn't want to if they were going to have creative input, so I'm glad it's dead" you know the thing has run it's course.

I suppose that would be another thread, but how many shows have there been that started off well, but then, in an attempt to draw a greater audience, killed what made the show good in the first place?
