I still get a slight hitch in my left thumb from hitting that joystick button so much.

Unless you wont accept anything but maxed out settings you dont need a top of the line computer to run the newest games. My rig is three years old and when I built it I used parts that were still good but werent considered the best you could buy at the time and I can run new games at good settings.

Xbox 360 is great, but how is it different from a PC?
Get a Wii and get the gory/realistic/war games for PC. Best of both worlds.
|
Exactly.
The 360's best games are pretty much all shooters. There's games just as good on the PC and with better controls to boot. Free online play as well.

I would say the XBOX 360 and the Wii are both better then the PS3.
My buddy and I share an apartment, him with the 360 and I have the Wii and both are great systems. Best of both worlds IMO.
I personally love the Wii. For those of you spouting off about how "cartoony" the games are, loads of more adult type games are in the pipeline with how well the console has been selling. Whenever anyone comes over they want to play the Wii. Loads of Mini Games, tons of fun, way to get a tiny bit of exercise. Most the games are great too, I love madden (actually hiking the ball, throwing, stiffarming, and lunging forward for a big hit feels great), and of course Zelda and other Nintendo staples.
The reason why I like the XBOX 360 better then the PS3 is for pretty obvious reasons. Its cheaper, has far better games, with about the same graphics. In fact in one benchmark test the XBOX 360 outperforms the PS3 in many areas simply due to the fact that programming on a dual core, vs a 6 core (i know its 8, only 6 handle gaming) is far far more difficult. Not to mention PS3 has basically no first party games anymore seeing how MS bought into a lot of them, and those that aren't you can expect 6 months later.
The game quality will eventually catch up but almost any game available on PS3 will be available on XBOX. The graphics levels are basically indestinguishable, some compare it to the PS2 vs the original XBOX in terms of difference.
You won't be able to get the first party games for XBOX on PS3 though such as Gears of War, Halo 3, Halo Wars, or any other games, (many of which have got fantastic reviews in comparison to reviews of current PS games).
So XBOX and Wii. If you wanna know a list of good games let me know. I usually use a site : www.ign.com for reviews. They are pretty indepth, and even have video reviews so you can watch the reviewer play while he talks about the game.

There's also some good fighting games on it too that you cant get on the PC. I have 7 games for my 360 and everyone of them you cant get on the PC except NHL 07 but the PC version is pretty much NHL 06 v.2.0.
If I can get a game on the PC I'll get the PC version but if not I'll get it for my 360.

You have to buy them with Wii Points. Honestly the Virtual Console is the only thing that I find attractive about the Wii. I still have no plans of getting one though unless I win one or have a load of money to burn.

I'm still waiting for the PS3 to come out with more games before I purchase. I think in the long run the PS3 will have the best selection of games.

Liek the poster above said, you buy them with Wii points. You buy those at a store. It works out to about $5 per old game.
They dont have the complete libraries. When I looked, and downloaded Super Mario Bros. they had about 5-8 games for the NES. They had a couple games for the other system. I am not sure of the exact number (And I've lent the Wii out for the weekend), but it was only a handful for each platform.

The rough prices are $5 for NES games, $8 for SNES games, and $10 for N64 games. I think Genesis and Turbografx games range from $5-$8. I think I saw that Neo Geo games will be added as well.
The VC only releases between 2-4 games every Monday to date. So the library is small but constantly growing. It is a pretty neat feature, and is a strong selling feature for the Wii while 1st and 2nd gen Wii games go through development. Wii software will be kind of sparse for the rest of Q1 and Q2, so the VC can be a nice distraction.
