The new C-Train station (Westwinds) and maintenance yards are under construction (tracks are 90% laid, they appear to be waiting for the flyover to finish so they can cross what is the current McKnight without fouling up traffic). The most recent plans are for the C-Train to go towards 80th then swing east to Saddleridge Circle, but I agree a swing into the Airport would make sense.
The airport did/does, but they have allowed a bunch of development and were actually talking about a golf course wedged in there. I''d guess the runways in your map are still accurate, the the Barlow re-alignment doesn't seem to fit with what has been built in the last 3 years (a lot!)
Throwing this derailment back on the tracks, this shows Airport trail east swinging down to join the ring road. I wonder why they would do that?

Barlow is being shifted to the east as per the airports plan - they already own the land. Airport trail is scheduled to go underground uf the new runway - thats all.

I have attached a screen shot since its a 15mb download and really slow (its a really good read if you are an airlines nerd as I am:
Here is the proposed C Train connection (at present city has no plan but airport as usual is ready when the city gets off their collective buts):
Here is the proposed connection to a possible/future high speed commuter train:
I must say, the Calgary aiport is probably the most well run and planned semi-governmental agencies this city has. Heck we should fire all members of city council and let the airport managers run the damn city.
