Happiest would be either Wake me Up by Wham! or Walking on Sunshine by Katrina and the Waves. They make me smile.
Saddest would be either You Lie by Reba McEntire or Can't Make you Love me by Bonnie Raitt (?)

I've got a lot of songs that make me happy, or that get me pumped up. Sad songs though, definately number one on my list is Steve Warriner's Holes in the Floor of Heaven. It gets to me every time and if I dont turn it off, I'll wind up crying for sure. I first heard it around the time of my grandma's death. The Power of Your Love by Rebecca St. James was sang at a friends funeral recently by two of his friends, and it gets to me. Also Robbie Robertson's Shine Your Light. Every time I listen to it I think of the part of Ladder 49 where it was played, and I just think of the sacrifice emergency workers make and how much I appreciate it. Red Hot Chili Peppers Under the Bridge.

Life in a Northern town from Dream Academy=a beautiful tribute to the simpler times in our lives..another one is "The Gunners Dream" from Pink Floyd..that is one hell of a moving song.
Happy songs?..Home for a Rest from Spirit of the West..many good memories of being drunk and listening to this.

Sad Song: Probably Stan by Eminem.
Happy/Energy song: Malibu Beach Nightmare by Hanoi Rocks. I LOVE this song, simply because it's got the quintessential hockey beat to it. It's awesome. Finnish band too.

Also if any of you want some sad, moody music, check out any song from the movie Stay (Ewan McGregor, Ryan Gosling, Naomi Watts). Wonderful movie with a phenomenal soundtrack, all original.

Up by Great Big Sea is a good happy song.
I've always though that "First time every I saw your face" song has a real sad tone to it. You know - the one from the old Oil of Oley commercial. Wait - why do I remember that? Weird.

Sad: Noir by SaturnusHappy: Me & My Bass Guitar by Victor Wooten
Noir
Tears to fill the despair
dreams to hunt forever
so fill up my cup with emptiness again
and chase those blackenened dreams on
more time
Nevertheless I'm gone
The drone of snow
as i breathe every second of your nearness
so fill my cup with despair again
and dream those blackened dream one
more time
Nevertheless I'm gone
Help me change
change the pain
my sadness never sleeps
I walk the lonely mile
should I forget your face?
and cast away my dreams?
should I walk away?
would I walk forever?
Nevertheless I'm gone
Me & My Bass Guitar:

Saddest.. gotta agree with troutman. Brick is a really sad song. So is Fred Jones Part 2 (both by Ben Folds)
Happiest. For me it's Iron & Wine's version of Such Great Heights.

Life in a Northern Town...I have a version of that I made up on guitar but it's too happy. I need to make it sad and haunting like the original.

the cover of Angels from Montgomery by the Leslie Spit Treo ~ALWAYS~ puts a smile on my face as the 1993 Cape Breton Oilers used it as their playoff song when they marched onto win the Calder Cup.
While there are a lot of songs that get me down, and lots that pick me up. There is no song that instantly makes me sad.
However, the video for Van Halen's "Right Now" I can't sit through. A few months ago I randomly looked it up on YouTube, it was the first time I saw the video since my dog died. When the scene showing a Golden Retriever rolling over with his tongue out playing came up and the words "God kills moms and dogs every day because he has to" I completely broke down... now if that video comes on TV I change the channel, or leave the room, I just can't take it. (My golden died suddendly a year ago last January, I was REALLY attached to him, and with him only being 7 we all took it hard)

Sad
Sarah Mclachlan - I Will Remember You: Played at the funeral of more than a few friends and classmates. Plus, Gretzky Junior sang it during that outdoor game when everyone was fussing over the Oilers. Bah.
Happy/Pumped
Tommy James and the Shondells - Mony Mony: Hey M***** Fu**** get laid get fu****. I'd never heard that before until this one time at a junior high dance. Still makes me smile for some reason.
Sweet - Little Willy: Another one that got played a lot at parties and at bars. Forever associated with good times.
