Your guy has Armitage's cadence down pat, but his voice is not deep enough.

It's a caricature. Not meant to sound just like Armitage. Your man does sound more like Steve, especially for the first five seconds, but after that the resemblance is minimal.

Some of the best impressions are not exact mimics, but caricatures or exaggerations.

I think the difference here is your guys sounds just like him, but isn't funny. Richards does an exaggerated impression that doesn't sound "bang on" but is funny as hell. That's what makes Richards impressions great I think is the over the top feel, like his Wie, Kipper, Sing, etc impressions. The Vezna bit with Kipper is classic.

If you are arguing that your guy sounds more like Arm, I agree. If you are arguing that it's a funnier bit than Richards, you're not gonna find me agreeing with you there.

Well said, I found the Van segment actually quite boring.....while Richards always cracks me up...... I also like the Garia and Vijay voices.

There was a full moon over North Van
RCMP outside
Thousands wait for Steve
Waitin' for him to speak
For a miracle gonna happen
His eminence to restore
The sound of thunder crackin'
Signals the beginning of the war to end all wars

(chorus)
Armita-geddon carry me home
Armita-geddon carry me home

Harry and Bob in the booth
Don sleepin' in his collar
Red phones ring in the blackout
Ain't got time to lose ferries off Coquitlam
Enemy submarines from Prince Rupert to Seattle
On a red alert
You better scramble all the F-15's

(chorus)
Armita-geddon carry me home
Armita-geddon carry me home

I did like you guy's Brian Williams. That was pretty good.

Get that Brian Williams calling Mike's Steve Armitage.

When Armitage talks in his normal voice, he probably sounds more like your guy. But when he gets excited, Mike's version of him is almost identical

I remember watching speed skating in the winter olympics last February and hearing Steve calling the finals, every time he shouted out that Japanese skater in that raspy voice I just about wet myself:

"Man-Li Wong!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Face it man... your boy's lame. A freakin' mynah bird..

Richard's robust, demented -- possibly addicted, likely a registered sex offender, over-the-top Steve is inspired.

Comes down to Funny. Funny trumps technique. Every time.

Weird, I don't recall ever my guy's impression funnier, I said better. And in terms of "better" impression, I feel Peter's is better. Having said that, after listening to all of Mike's bits and in their RAW form, not the soundboard, the bits are funny as hell.

The Richards Armitage never kids. Them's are first-person accounts from a consummate if crusty newsman.

He needs to get a few Google ads on there and try to earn a bit of revenue off the traffic.

"GOOGLE ADS"
"MONEY"
"SCHNEE"

You need to get your buddy to get Richards to do an intro into the soundboard. Some custom stuff for the sound board.
