I am walking past it outside, but from where I can see it looks open.

Does anyone know of any downtown gyms with squash courts?

If so, is anyone up for a moderately high level game of squash?

Bow Valley Square, and Eau Claire YMCA both have courts, althought I think the YMCA is closed for renovation. I am more a raquetball guy.

EDIT - I should mention the YMCA gym is open, but courts I believe are closed.

Meh. Back in the dark ages when I was at the U of C, I once walked into the sauna only to find a guy jerking off on his back. Bonus: He was wasn't alone.

Another plug for the YMCA. +Plus is worth it for the towel service (except maybe eauclaire, i think it costs more there for some reason).

As for the north hill WHC went to go tour it a few months ago before I committed to the Y. Went right after work, 5ish? And it didn't seem overly busy. busy, but not crazy, minimal wait for equipment.... worth a tour, i felt it was kind of small and congested? Just don't give them your real phone number... the sales pitches keep coming.

The NW needs a leisure center Unless there is already one and I don't know about it.

Does anyone know if there a place in Downtown where they would have shower pass? I'd like to go out for a run at lunch hour but I need to shower after. I would not want pay a full gym membership just for the shower.

A few minutes outside downtown but I have enjoyed Probodies in my short stint there. I used to workout at gagne and it is pretty similar.
If your in it for people standing around talking or brand new equipment with tvs and video games, probodies would not be for you. I like the old school feel with only a handful of people working out.
I considered westside but really do not like it there. Way too many people (waiting on machines), plenty of kids standing around chatting (getting in your way) and too big for my personal taste.

I have to agree with you on probodies. Terrible gym facilities wise however since I started going there I've never had to wait for a bench or machine. It's never busy, not even now at 6pm with all the NY reso's in there.

The biggest flaw that gym has is there's basically no hot girls. There are a few regulars that are ok but nothing to write home about.

Talisman has the best eye candy I've seen in the 4 gyms I've been a member at however it's so busy that I couldn't stand going there.
