As something of an electronic music junkie and a big fan of industrial noise, I loved both the soundtrack for Hackers and The Matrix, which coincidently also had a killer score.
The score for Braveheart was practically inspiring, and the score and soundtrack for Requiem For a Dream was nothing short of mesmerizing and intense.

Agreed, I want to learn how to play the main theme on guitar so I can have it at my disposal for comedic punctuation.

I may be on my own here, but that opening score from True Lies is fantastic.

You mean the movie that brought us the worst song of all time, Kokomo?
(actually only the 12th worst song ever on this list):
http://www.blender.com/guide/articles.aspx?id=819
THE BEACH BOYS
“Kokomo” 1988
They might as well have just ****ed in Brian’s sandbox
The Boys’ Cocktail soundtrack single was their first number 1 since “Good Vibrations” 18 years earlier. But chart position is all the songs have in common. “Good Vibrations” is a glorious slice of Brian Wilson–penned pop perfection; “Kokomo” is a gloopy mess of faux-Carribean musical stylings cowritten by Mike Love. It’s all anodyne harmonizing and forced rhymes (“To Martinique, that Montserrat mystique!”) that would have driven Brian totally nuts had he not been totally nuts already.
Worst Moment The most diabolical rhyme is saved for, um, first: “Aruba, Jamaica, ooh, I wanna take ya!”

The Commitments has an incredible soundtrack. Andrew Strong's vocals are nothing short of remarkable. Some of the band's covers are at least as good and better in some cases than the originals.
The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly has one of the most memorable scores ever.
Lot's of other memorable scores;
The Pink Panther,
Lawrence of Arabia,
Jaws,
Psycho,
The Magnificent Seven
The Godfather

You mean not heard in UHF? Because it was on in the background when Eric Idle (Monty Python) was doing his junkion bit.

Top Gun is great - at my wedding my Groomsmen grabbed the mic and sang "You lost that loving feeling" to my wife...Classic!
The Crow has a great soundtrack that I still regularly listen to - My life with the Thrill Kill Cult = great tune to get you jacked

YEAH!
it's funny, a friend of mine is big into music and grabbed all the thrill kill cult albums he could, and they were all atrocious...
my fave on that one has got to be 'golgotha tenement blues', wow that is a haunting tune.
a few other one-hit wonders on that album.
a side note, it was great going to that in the theatre, it was a gigantic bomb that became a cult hit, there were families that brought little kids to it that cried and cried!
